Where is the evidence to support that the United States (US) is the champion of democracy, as its government claims to be? There is none!

The majority of Americans have never heard of US Major General Smedley Butler. He was the most decorated general of his time. Why wouldn't Americans know him?

Butler was the whistleblower that alerted the US government that a group of oligarchs planned to overthrow President Franklin D. Roosevelt, because they did not want to pay for his New Deal Policy of 1933. Although Butler was proven correct, the government never prosecuted any of the plotters!

Two years later, Butler wrote his book, WAR IS A RACKET, where he exposed the US' use of war to make profit for US oligarchs. You would, therefore, think that a real US democracy would include Butler's book as required reading in its educational system. But it is not!

Today, President Trump wants to go to war against Venezuela to stop her drugs from getting into the US. Nobody believes Trump. The world believes that the US is the biggest threat to peace, and that it wants to make Venezuela its next colony. Fortunately for Venezuela, the global majority will not allow Trump to colonize her.

As the US unipolar world order diminishes, and the new multipolar world order overtakes it, Puerto Rico will finally be able to free herself from 127 years of US colonialism, where 6 million Puerto Ricans abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and almost half the people in Puerto Rico live in poverty.  

Similarly, the almost 40 million Americans who today live in poverty, and the 201 million more who live from paycheck to paycheck, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are Americans too, will also be able to say, "Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

Pedro Albizu Campos led a revolution against US imperialism in Puerto Rico in 1950. Puerto Ricans were too weak and alone to liberate themselves. About 50% of Puerto Ricans want Puerto Rico to become the 51 state of the Union in order to achieve, as they put it, "equality". Unfortunately for them, that is inconsistent with President Trump's "Make America Great Again". 

That is a euphemism for making America predominantly White again. What does racism and colonialism have to do with democracy? And if it does, why is the US the biggest threat to peace? Hopefully, these Puerto Ricans will realize that they have bet on the wrong horse!

The world is in danger of the possibility that the US may choose to push the Doomsday Clock even closer to midnight, rather than accept multipolarity. Why do Puerto Rico consistently rank high in terms of per capita military service, when compared to the US states, and other territories? Desperation!

Therefore, a Puerto Rican joining the US military doesn't mean that he is more patriotic than a stateside American, it means that he is more desperate to escape poverty!

Bonairians' self-determination marches on

The Human Rights Workshop held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, drew a full-to-capacity audience, with strong participation from Bonaireans and its inhabitants of all ages. The event featured a keynote address by James Finies, Founder of the Bonaire Human Rights Organization (BHRO). His remarks set the tone for a powerful and historic gathering focused on strengthening human rights awareness on the island.

In a major milestone for the movement, Muhernan Fuerte PPP leaders Joseline Thielman and Phenice Frans-Piar officially joined as co-founders of bringing human rights information and education to Bonaire citizens and a renewed strength, experience, and representation to the mission of advancing human rights on Bonaire.

For the first time in Bonaire’s history, the Bonaire Human Rights Organization hosted this landmark Human Rights Lecture and Workshop under the campaign “We Also Have Rights”, in collaboration with United for Human Rights International. Local partners included We Dare To Care Foundation, Rinkon Edifikando Hóbennan na Madures Foundation, Muhernan Fuerte, Movementu Pa Kambio, and Nos Ta Futuro di Boneiru.

An important highlight of the program was an impressive presentation delivered by President Davika Bissessar Shaw, who spoke on the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. During her address, she officially launched the Ambassadorship Program of the Bonaire Human Rights Organization, opening the door for community members to become certified Human Rights Ambassadors.

Participants engaged in a dynamic program that included a human rights lecture, group workshops, campaign planning, a cultural presentation, and a short test leading to certification as Human Rights Advocates. The event concluded with a certificate ceremony celebrating newly empowered participants equipped with the knowledge and tools to promote and protect human rights on Bonaire.

This workshop also marked the launch of BHRO’s five-year campaign to advance the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, with particular emphasis on Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, which BHRO previously presented at the margins of the 80th UN General Assembly.

US' strategy has always been imperialism

The United States (US) published its security strategy for November 2025, but it is still the same! This strategy has nothing to do with democracy, human rights, or the rule of law. This strategy violates the United Nations' (UN) Charter, and is a clear admission that the US should have never been admitted to the UN, because it is not a peace loving nation. 

The US doesn't even love 99% of its own citizens. Did you know that almost 40 million Americans live in poverty today, and 201 million more live from paycheck to paycheck, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are also Americans? The US, however, loves its oligarchs!

Moreover, the US Empire has consistently refused to comply with 43 UN resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico's sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico live in poverty too.

Why are over 90% of Chinese satisfied with their one party communist political system, while only 35% of Americans are satisfied with their multiparty "democratic" political system? The People's Republic of China eradicated poverty in 2020, despite having 4 times the US' population, and having 11 trillion dollars less than the US. Citizens know what democracy is!

This report did not mention that the world considers the US as the biggest threat to peace. The US has unilaterally pushed the Doomsday Clock to 89 seconds to midnight. The US strategy is a great way to get the world into World War III.

What is America's interest?

The United States (US) has never been interested in being the champion of democracy, although it claims to be that. On the contrary, the US is obsessed with ruling the world.

Today, 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens, while almost 40 million other Americans live in poverty, and 201 million more live from paycheck to paycheck. 

Moreover, the US Empire has consistently refused to comply with 43 United Nations resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico's sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico live in poverty too.

The US' obsession to dominate the world has unilaterally pushed the Doomsday Clock to 89 seconds to midnight. Americans must stop their government, before that clock strikes midnight!

US was never a democracy

The United States (US) has never been a democracy. That is why the world considers the US the biggest threat to peace. The US has unilaterally pushed the Doomsday Clock to 89 seconds to midnight. The US is the champion of imperialism!

The US was created by committing genocide against the indigenous people of North America. The US stole half of Mexico to expand its nation. And in 1898, it lied to go to war against Spain to steal her colonies.

Puerto Rico has been a US colony since 1898. The US has consistently refused to comply with 43 United Nations resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico's sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and almost half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico live in poverty.

Had the US been a democracy, it would have decided the opposite, after the collapse of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in 1991. 

Instead of allowing Russia to integrate into the world as an equal nation, like a real democracy would have done, the US decided to make plans to colonize her. The US decided to maintain the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and expand it right to the Russian Federation's doorstep. That is the reason for the war in Ukraine today! 

The US, at this time (1990"s), decided to deindustrialize, so that US oligarchs could take advantage of the cheaper workforce abroad. That began the hollowing out of the middle class, and the homelessness that we see today. That is not what a democracy would have done. That is what a plutocracy does!

Ironically, the People's Republic of China, a nation that the US claims to be a dictatorship, has eradicated poverty, despite having 4 times the US'  population, and 11 trillion dollars less than the US. Unlike the US, over 90% of Chinese are satisfied with their one party communist political system. People know what democracy is!

Americans need to wake up and save themselves, and the world from World War III.

The US needs its dollar to continue to be the reserve currency of the world in order to finance its empire. The world considers the US as the biggest threat to peace with its 800 military bases worldwide. Fortunately, the US is going bankrupt at an alarming rate!

US wars have not been used to spread democracy around the world. They have been used for profit, like US Major General Smedley Butler explained in his 1935 book, WAR IS A RACKET.

The US' claim that the People's Republic of China is a dictatorship is a part of that racket. How could that be true, when China has already eradicated poverty, despite having 4 times the US'  population, and 11 trillion dollars less than the US? While only 35% of Americans are satisfied with their multiparty "democratic" political system, over 90% of Chinese are satisfied with their one party communist political system. People know what democracy is!

The US has exhausted every leverage it had, and nuclear weapons are the only thing left. Is the US capable of realizing that its obsession of dominating the world only invites Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) or will it double down and make MAD inevitable?
