El Pueblo de Puerto Rico le dio un caluroso regreso a casa a su héroe nacional Oscar López Rivera en la Plaza de Recreo de Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico el miércoles, 17 de mayo de 2017.

Oscar estuvo 35 años en la prisión por tratar de hacer valer las 35 resoluciones de la Organización de Naciones Unidas (ONU) pidiéndole al gobierno de Estados Unidos que le entregue inmediatamente la soberanía de Puerto Rico a los puertorriqueños.

Es importante destacar que bajo la ley internacional, Oscar tiene el derecho de usar todos los medios necesarios para descolonizar su patria. La vista anual sobre el caso colonial de Puerto Rico será el lunes, 19 de junio de 2017 en la ONU. Solicitamos, al igual que el año pasado, hacer una ponencia conforme al procedimiento que aparece en la página cibernética de la ONU.  Veremos si se nos excluye de la lista de peticionarios otra vez.

Nuestra 4ta Marcha Oscar – Mandela en Nueva York comenzará a las 9am en el mismo día de la vista.  Marcharemos desde Hunter College en la calle 68 y Lexington hasta el Parque Ralph Bunche al otro lado de la ONU.  Oscar nos felicitó por esta buena idea, y dijo que estará allí.

Le pedimos que invite a todos sus contactos para que nos acompañen en ese evento histórico. Regalaremos la camiseta oficial de esta marcha a los primeros 50 personas que llegue para marchar con nosotros. ¡Necesitamos un tsunami de gente en todas nuestras protestas para obligar al gobierno de Estados Unidos que cumpla con las resoluciones, porque los que encarcelan a los que luchan por su libertad no creen en la JUSTICIA PARA TODOS!

The People of Puerto Rico gave their national hero, Oscar López Rivera, a warm home coming in Rio Piedras’ town square on Wednesday, May 17, 2017.

Oscar spent 35 years in jail trying to force the United States (US) government to comply with 35 United Nations (UN) resolutions asking it to immediately give Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans.

The annual Puerto Rico decolonization hearing at the UN will be on Monday, June 19, 2017.  We asked in accordance with the instructions at the official UN website, as we did last year, for a turn to speak at the hearing. We will see if we are excluded from the petitioners’ list again.

Our 4^th Oscar – Mandela March in New York City will begin at 9am on the same day of the hearing.  We will start at Hunter College on 68^th Street and Lexington to the Ralph Bunche Park across from the UN. Oscar congratulated us for this good idea, and said that he will be there.
