Would you
like to be on the committee to organize the 5th Oscar – Mandela March
2018 in New York City (NYC)?
The goal is
to begin to create a tsunami of people to force the United States
government to comply with international law and decolonize Puerto Rico.
In order to
get people to be part of the tsunami, they will have to know why this is
important. Therefore, the purpose of
the march is to draw attention to:
120 years of
Puerto Rico colonialism
There are now more Puerto Ricans out than in our national
territory
The US government takes out 14 times what it invests in Puerto
Rico
There are 36 United Nations (UN) resolutions asking the US
government to give Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Rican
The US govern is the terrorist by maintaining Puerto Rico as a
colony and thus being a threat to world peace, and although…
The US press wants to make Oscar Lopez Rivera out to be the
terrorist, he has dedicated his life to force the US government to comply
with international law that prohibits colonialism.
The march is
from Hunter College to the Ralph Bunche Park on 43rd Street and 1st
Avenue is always on the Monday after Fathers’ Day. That is also the day the
United Nations holds its annual hearing to discuss Puerto Rico decolonization. Therefore, we stay there all day at the park
to speak with by passers Puerto Rican colonialism.
At 4pm, we
have our rally to show our indignation that the US government’s continued unwillingness
to decolonize Puerto Rico.
We need
to involve the college students from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, as well as all people in general. It
would great if we could have university students in New York City to head this
committee. Perhaps we could even have 3 committees, one in each of the above
states.
I would be
willing to go to New York to meet with the committee to make sure that we are
ready for the march.
If you are
interested in being a part of the 5th Oscar – Mandela March 2018
