Miedo a la independencia boricua / Fear of Puerto Rico independence

Querer la independencia para un país es natural en todas partes del mundo. ¿Por qué se dice que solo un 3% de los boricuas queremos nuestra independencia?

¿Por qué el Gobierno de Estados Unidos (GEU) asesinó a don Pedro Albizu Campos y al comandante Filiberto Ojeda Ríos? ¿Por qué el GEU masacró a boricuas en Rio Piedras, Utuado y Ponce? ¡El GEU quiere a Puerto Rico como su colonia hoy, mañana y para siempre! Por lo tanto, ese terror boricua hacia su independencia es racional.

Es importante destacar que antes de la invasión militar del GEU, ya Puerto Rico había obtenido de España su gobierno propio mediante la Carta Autonómica del 1897. El GEU lo sabía y también sabía que sacaría el 0% en un plebiscito para convertir a Puerto Rico en su colonia. ¡Como resultado de 120 años de adoctrinamiento estadounidense, el boricua le ha creído el embuste de que el GEU es el campeón de la democracia!

Tanto es así que la mitad de los boricuas quieren que Puerto Rico se convierta en el estado 51 de Estados Unidos de América. El mal llamado “Gobierno de Puerto Rico” (GPR) no está para beneficiar a los puertorriqueños. El GPR, en realidad, es la administración colonial del GEU en Puerto Rico. La prueba está en que:

•  Más boricuas viven fuera de su territorio nacional
•  Más boricuas en Boriken ingresan al ejército estadounidense que en cualquiera de los 50 estados de la Unión

• Existe una Junta de Control Fiscal
• El GEU insiste que Puerto Rico tiene una supuesta deuda. ¿Cómo es posible que un esclavo puede tener una deuda con su amo?

¿Cómo se manifiesta el miedo boricua?

Los boricuas masivamente protestarán el 1 de mayo de 2019 por los abusos del imperio estadounidense de forma indirecta vía el GPR. Ellos se sienten cómodo haciéndolo, porque no se está protestando contra “el cuco” – el GEU.

Las organizaciones participantes del 1 de mayo te dirían que ellos no pueden apoyar una marcha por la independencia de Puerto Rico, porque no todos sus miembros son independentistas. ¡Es como si estos boricuas estuvieran incapaces de entender que la única razón por todas sus quejas se debe a que Puerto Rico no se administra para los intereses de los puertorriqueños! Y que para poder resolverles sus problemas, Puerto Rico tendría que ser gobernado exclusivamente para los boricuas. ¿Cómo se logrará eso sin nuestra la independencia?

Las preferencias que tengamos los boricuas sobre qué estatus político preferimos para Puerto Rico no son importante ahora. ¿Por qué?

To want Independence for a country is natural all over the world. Why do people say that only 3% of Puerto Ricans want our independence?

Why did the United States Government (USG) assassinate Pedro Albizu Campos and Filiberto Ojeda Rios? The so-called, “Puerto Rico Government” is not for the benefit of the Puerto Ricans. The PRG is, in reality, the USG’s administration of its colony in Puerto Rico. The proof is that:

• More Puerto Ricans live away from their national territory
• More Puerto Ricans in Puerto Rico join the US military than in any of the 50 states of the Union

•  The USG’s insistence that Puerto Rico has a debt with it. But, how is it possible for a slave to have a debt with his master?

How does the Puerto Rican fear manifest?

Puerto Ricans will protest massively on May 1, 2019, against the abuses caused by the empire via the PRG. They feel comfortable doing it that way, because the protest is not against the boogie-man – the USG.

The organizations participating in the May 1 would say that they can’t support a march for independence, because not all of their members want independence for Puerto Rico. It is like if these Puerto Ricans are incapable of understanding that their problems come from the fact that Puerto is not being governed for Puerto Ricans! And that to solve that problem, Puerto Rico would have to be governed exclusively for them. How will that happen without achieving Puerto Rican Independence?

Puerto Ricans’ political preferences for Puerto Rico is not important right now, because the international community has determined in 1945 that colonialism is a crime against humanity. El boricua tiene que ser libre

Fufi Santori Coll llegó a la conclusión que el puertorriqueño tenía que ser libre para manifestarse a plenitud. 

Fufi y un grupo de jóvenes se reunieron con Luis Muñoz Marín para decirle que el Partido Popular Democrático (PPD) no representaba los intereses de los puertorriqueños.

Fufi pensó que Muñoz había innecesariamente traicionado el ideal de la independencia con su prédica de que nos moríamos de hambre con ella. Con su discurso anti-puertorriqueño y altamente pro Estados Unidos, Fufi entendió que Muñoz ayudó grandemente hacer al puertorriqueño pensar que la estadidad sería lo mejor para Puerto Rico.

Muñoz decidió botar del PPD a los jóvenes que se atrevieron a cuestionarlo. ¡Pero la historia les ha dado la razón a estos jóvenes!

Filiberto es otro ejemplo de la resistencia permanente que los boricuas tenemos que hacer para obligar al Gobierno de Estados Unidos (GEU) a cumplir con la Carta de la Organización de Naciones Unidas (ONU) que prohíbe el colonialismo y las 37 resoluciones de la ONU pidiéndole que le devuelva inmediatamente la soberanía de Puerto Rico a los puertorriqueños. Por eso el GEU lo asesinó para desincentivar a los boricuas hacer lo mismo.

La resistencia que impulsó Fufi con su campaña de afirmar nuestra ciudadanía puertorriqueña causó tanta preocupación para el GEU que decidió no aceptar como política pública las renuncias de sus ciudadanías por los puertorriqueños.

¿Sabe usted que por el proyecto patriótico de Fufi los boricuas no podemos perder la ciudadanía estadounidense qué el GEU nos espetó en el 1917? Hasta el mismo Oscar López Rivera, que el GEU considera un terrorista por luchar por la independencia de su patria, nunca le quitó la ciudadanía yanqui.

“Los boricuas somos buenos por naturaleza”

El Comité Amigos de José Fufi Santori Coll le hace una invitación a todos los que se sientan boricua que nos acompañen para la conmemoración del natalicio de nuestro amigo y gran patriota puertorriqueño, don Fufi, el domingo 5 de mayo de 2019 a las 2 PM en el Parque Gándara en la avenida Roosevelt de Hato Rey, Puerto Rico.

En el 1993, Fufi se dio cuenta de que el primer paso para descolonizar a Puerto Rico era renunciar la ciudadanía estadounidense impuesta a los puertorriqueños por el Gobierno de Estados Unidos (GEU) en el 1917. Fufi tuvo razón, porque, después que viarios puertorriqueños siguieron su ejemplo, el GEU vio lo peligroso que era esa estrategia para poder mantener a su colonia para siempre. El GEU decidió adoptar la política de negarse a reconocerle las renuncias de los puertorriqueños a la ciudadanía estadounidense. ¿Por qué?

Cuando un boricua renuncia la ciudadanía estadounidense, el GEU lo tiene que enviar a su país de origen. Cuando el GEU hace eso, también crea para sí mismo el potencial de que estos patriotas puertorriqueños en su país, tarde o temprano, le monten una revolución por su independencia.

Por lo tanto, el GEU no permite que los puertorriqueños renuncien la ciudadanía estadounidense. ¡Ni Oscar López Rivera, considerado por el GEU de ser un terrorista y encarcelado por casi 36 años por tratar de derrocar al GEU en Puerto Rico, nunca perdió la ciudadanía Americana!

Fufi tenía un gran amor por Puerto Rico y por los puertorriqueños. Fufi decía que éramos gente buena, porque, “cuando la naturaleza es buena con la gente, la gente es buena por naturaleza.”

Is the UN in the right place?

What is the purpose of the United Nations (UN)?

Article 1 of the UN Charter states the following purposes:

1. To maintain international peace and security, and to that end: to take effective collective measures for the prevention and removal of threats to the peace, and for the suppression of acts of aggression or other breaches of the peace, and to bring about by peaceful means, and in conformity with the principles of justice and international law, adjustment or settlement of international disputes or situations which might lead to a breach of the peace;
2. To develop friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples, and to take other appropriate measures to strengthen universal peace;
3. To achieve international co-operation in solving international problems of an economic, social, cultural, or humanitarian character, and in promoting and encouraging respect for human rights and for fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language, or religion; and
4. To be a center for harmonizing the actions of nations in the attainment of these common ends.

The UN’s headquarters is in New York City in the United States of America (USA). Is it where it ought to be? 

Are you aware of a survey done in 2013 where it asked, who is the biggest threat to world peace? Do you know that the world said that it is the United States? It wasn’t even close! There are almost 200 nations that compose the UN. You would think that at least one of those nations would make the proposal to move the UN to a nation that the international community considers to be the one that poses the least threat to world peace. Why hasn’t that happened?

Is the UN democratic? Are the UN member states afraid of the USA? Does the UN really exist for the reasons stated in its Charter?

It makes no sense to have the UN in the USA if its purpose is what the UN’s Charter says. Therefore, it is time to have a public debate about finding a better venue for the UN. The international community should not be rewarding any bully member state by permitting it to enjoy the great economic activity generated by having the UN headquarters in its home state. I personally favor putting the UN in Haiti. What do you say?

The UN and Decolonization

The history of the United Nations (UN) and Decolonization posted by the UN on its website is inaccurate.

There are not 17 Non- Self- Governing Territories, because Puerto Rico is not on that list. Therefore, there are 18. Why?

The Nationalist Party revolted on October 30, 1950. Although it was unsuccessful in attaining Puerto Rico independence, the United States Government (USG) decided to try to hide the fact that Puerto Rico is its colony.

The USG worked with Luis Munoz Marin in 1952 to hide the United States (US) colony by naming it, “The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico”.  

With the help of Luis Munoz Marin, the USG asked the UN to remove Puerto Rico from its list of colonies in 1953 alleging that Puerto Rico had attained self-government. The UN bought it, and although it knows today that the USG lied, the UN has never returned Puerto Rico back on its list of colonies. Therefore, the UN is not telling the truth when it says in the paragraph below that, “Today, fewer than 2 million people live in such territories”. Puerto Rico alone has more than 3 million people. In fact, because of 120 years of Puerto Rican colonialism, today more Puerto Ricans live away from their national territory!

Join the permanent resistance to force the USG to comply with the UN’s Charter that prohibits colonialism, and the 37 UN resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. “When the United Nations was established in 1945, 750 million people - almost a third of the world's population - lived in Territories that were non-self-governing, dependent on colonial Powers. Today, fewer than 2 million people live in such Territories.

The Charter of the United Nations established, in Chapter XI (Articles 73 and 74), the principles that continue to guide United Nations decolonization efforts, including respect for self-determination of all peoples.

The United Nations Charter also established the International Trusteeship System in Chapter XII (articles 75-85) and the Trusteeship Council in Chapter XIII (articles 86-91) to monitor certain Territories, known as "Trust" Territories. Those Territories, each subject to separate agreements with administering States, were formally administered under Mandates from the League of Nations, or were separated from countries defeated in the Second World War, or were voluntarily placed under the system by States responsible for their administration. Eleven Territories were placed under this system.

Since the creation of the United Nations more than 80 former colonies have gained their independence. Among them, all eleven Trust Territories have achieved self-determination through independence or free association with an independent State. There are 17 Non-Self-Governing Territories remaining today.

The Charter binds administering Powers to recognize that the interests of dependent Territories are paramount, to agree to promote social, economic, political and educational progress in the Territories, to assist in developing appropriate forms of self-government and to take into account the political aspirations and stages of development and advancement of each Territory. Administering Powers are also obliged under the Charter to convey to the United Nations information on conditions in the Territories. The United Nations monitors progress towards self-determination in the Territories.

Hoping to speed the progress of decolonization, the General Assembly adopted, in 1960, the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples. Known as the Declaration on decolonization, it stated that all people have a right to self-determination and proclaimed that colonialism should be brought to a speedy and unconditional end.

In 1962 the General Assembly established the Special Committee on Decolonization to monitor implementation of the Declaration and to make recommendations on its application.

In 1990, the General Assembly proclaimed 1990-2000 as the International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism and adopted a Plan of Action. In 2001, the Second International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism was proclaimed. In 2011, the General Assembly proclaimed 2011-2020 as the Third International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism.”

¡Falta un año! / One year left!

La Organización de Naciones Unidas (ONU) tiene un año más en su Tercer Decenio Internacional para la Eliminación del Colonialismo, 2011 – 2020. El Comité Especial de Descolonización (C-24) está a cargo de esa terea. La ONU provee la siguiente información sobre este comité:  

"La Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas estableció en 1961 un Comité Especial de 17 miembros, ampliado hasta 24 miembros en 1962, para examinar la aplicación de la Declaración sobre la descolonización (Resolución de la Asamblea General 1514 (XV) de 14 de diciembre de 1960 ) y formular recomendaciones sobre su aplicación. Aunque comúnmente se le denomina Comité Especial de los 24 o Comité Especial de Descolonización, su nombre completo es Comité Especial encargado de examinar la situación con respecto a la aplicación de la Declaración sobre la concesión de la independencia a los países y pueblos coloniales.

El Comité se reúne anualmente para revisar y actualizar la lista de territorios incluidos en la Declaración. Escucha las declaraciones de representantes nombrados y electos de los territorios, así como de peticionarios, envía misiones visitadoras a los territorios y organiza seminarios sobre la situación política, social, económica y educacional en los territorios. El Comité formula asimismo recomendaciones en relación con la difusión de información para movilizar a la opinión pública en apoyo del proceso de descolonización y celebra la Semana Internacional de solidaridad con los pueblos de los territorios no autónomos."

Me gustaría hablar sobre la responsabilidad que tiene el C-24 en relación a “la difusión de información para movilizar la opinión publica en apoyo al proceso de descolonización”. ¡Eso no se está haciendo de manera seria e efectiva!

Cuando yo empecé en el 2012 haciendo ponencias en las vistas anuales sobre la descolonización de Puerto Rico, me di cuenta que la ONU no estaba transmitiendo regularmente estas vistas en vivo por radio y televisión. No entendía por qué, ya que el Gobierno de Estados Unidos (GEU) está violando la Carta de la ONU que prohíbe el colonialismo desde el 1945 y había ignorado más de 30 resoluciones de la ONU pidiéndole que le devuelva inmediatamente la soberanía de Puerto Rico a los puertorriqueños. Le pedí formalmente a la ONU que transmitiera en vivo la vista del 2015. La ONU se negó.

Nosotros mismos, sin embargo, logramos transmitir la vista del 2016, pero la ONU me castigó sacándome de su lista de peticionarios ese año. Más aun, la ONU no nos ha permitido a volver a transmitir las vistas. El C-24 hubiera ya erradicado el colonialismo si hubiera estado transmitiendo estas vistas desde el Primer Decenio Internacional para la Eliminación del Colonialismo, 1990 – 2000. Harriet Tubman, la guerrera que liberó a mil esclavos vía el Tren Subterráneo, dijo, “Yo liberé a mil esclavos. Yo pudiera haber liberado a otro mil, si ellos hubieran sabido que eran esclavos.” 

¡Invitamos a todos que insistan que la ONU transmita en vivo estas vistas, porque los que quieren colonialismo ahora, colonialismo mañana y colonialismo para siempre no creen en la LIBERTAD Y EN LA JUSTICIA PARA TODOS!

The United Nations (UN) has one more year left in its 3^rd International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism, 2011 – 2020. The Special Committee on Decolonization (C-24) is charged with that task. The UN provides the following information concerning this committee:

"The Special Committee on the Situation with regard to the Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples (also known as the Special Committee on decolonization or C-24), the United Nations entity exclusively devoted to the issue of decolonization, was established in 1961 by the General Assembly with the purpose of monitoring the implementation of the Declaration (General Assembly Resolution 1514 (XV) of 14 December 1960).

The Special Committee annually reviews the list of Territories to which the Declaration is applicable and makes recommendations as to its implementation. It also hears statements from NSGTs representatives, dispatches visiting missions, and organizes seminars on the political, social and economic situation in the Territories. Further, the Special Committee annually makes recommendations concerning the dissemination of information to mobilize public opinion in support of the decolonization process, and observes the Week of Solidarity with the Peoples of Non-Self-Governing Territories."

I would like to talk about the C-24’s responsibility regarding, “the dissemination of information to mobilize public opinion in support of the decolonization process”. That is not being done in a serious and effective manner!

When I started speaking at the annual Puerto Rico decolonization hearings in 2012, I became aware that the UN is not regularly broadcasting these hearings live on radio and television. I couldn’t understand why, since the United States Government (USG) has been violating the UN’s Charter of 1945 that prohibits colonialism, and had ignored over 30 UN resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. I formally asked the UN to broadcast the 2015 hearing. The UN refused!

We managed, however, to broadcast the 2016 hearing ourselves, but the UN retaliated by taking me off its list of petitioners that year. Moreover, the UN has not allowed us to broadcast these hearings again. Keeping these hearings hidden from the public goes against “the dissemination of information to mobilize public opinion in support of the decolonization process”. The C-24 would have already eradicated colonialism had it been broadcasting these annual hearings live since the First International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism, 1990 – 2000. Harriet Tubman, the Underground Railroad liberator said, “I freed a thousand slaves. I could have freed a thousand more if only they knew they were slaves.”

El gobierno de Estados Unidos (GEU) ha explotado a Puerto Rico y a los puertorriqueños por los últimos 120 años.

¿Cuál ha sido el resultado?

1. Debido a su adoctrinamiento, la mayoría de los puertorriqueños creen que el GEU significa libertad y democracia. Por eso, el 80% de los boricuas participan en sus elecciones coloniales. ¡El sello postal arriba es un ejemplo de la propaganda estadounidense para lavar los celebros boricuas!

2. Más de la mitad de los puertorriqueños hoy viven fuera de su territorio nacional, porque no hay oportunidades en su propio país.

3. Más puertorriqueños ingresan al servicio militar estadounidense que en cualquiera de los 50 estados de la Unión por falta de oportunidades en su propia patria.

4. Casi no hay industria autóctona puertorriqueña para los puertorriqueños a pesar de que Puerto Rico tiene condiciones ideales para proveer empleos para todos los puertorriqueños dentro y fuera de su territorio nacional.

El GEU les espetó a los puertorriqueños una ciudadanía estadounidense de segunda clase con la intención de que nunca se independicen. Esa ciudadanía es irrenunciable. ¿Sabía usted Oscar Lopez Rivera, a quien el GEU considera un terrorista, nunca perdió la ciudadanía estadounidense? ¿Qué podría hacer los puertorriqueños para romper ese círculo vicioso del colonialismo?

Deberíamos reconocer que el GEU nunca nos va a enseñar nuestra verdadera historia puertorriqueña para evitar una revolución. Bajo la ley estadounidense, los puertorriqueños no tenemos derecho alguno que el GEU nos tenga que respetar. Por lo tanto, no adelantamos nuestra descolonización participando en nuestras elecciones coloniales.

Es importantísimo que nos demos cuenta de que el GEU está cometiendo un crimen en contra de la humanidad teniendo a Puerto Rico como su colonia. The United States Government (USG) has exploited Puerto Rico (PR) and Puerto Ricans for the past 120 years.

What has been the result of that?

1. Due to indoctrination, most Puerto Ricans believe that the USG represents freedom and democracy. That is why 80% of Boricuas vote in Puerto Rico’s colonial elections. The postal stamp shown in the Spanish version is an example of the USG’s brainwashing propaganda!

2. More than half of Puerto Ricans live outside of their national territory, because of no opportunities for them in their homeland.

3. More Puerto Ricans join the United States military than in any of the 50 states of the Union, because of no opportunities for them in their hometown.

4. There is hardly any native industry in Puerto Rico for Puerto Ricans, even though she has ideal natural conditions to provide jobs for all Puerto Ricans in and out of their national territory.

The USG stuck Puerto Ricans with a second-class United States (US) citizenship in 1917 with the purpose that Puerto Rico would never become independent. That citizenship is un-renounceable! Do you know that Oscar Lopez Rivera – whom the USG regards as a Puerto Rican terrorist- never lost his US citizenship? What can Puerto Ricans do to break this vicious colonial cycle?

The USG will never teach Puerto Ricans their real history to avoid a revolution. Therefore, we must begin our decolonization process by learning our real history on our own. Under US law, Puerto Ricans have no right that the USG must respect. Therefore, we gain nothing to decolonize Puerto Rico by participating in our colonial elections. 

It is vital that we become aware that the USG is committing a crime against humanity by maintaining Puerto Rico as its colony. Subject: Minister Kasja Ollongren first introduction to the island of Bonaire

 Honorable Minister Ollongren,

As you landed in Bonaire and firsthand experienced a modernized version of a Dutch colony where the Bonaire peoples are governed in a status not of their choosing. An island where the Dutch government is blatantly continuing violating the Charter of the United Nations, international law and fundamental human, self-determination and democratic rights of the peoples. An unprecedented showoff of hypocrisy to pretend to the world that the Dutch stand in defense of human rights and democracy where your government does not respect the democratic voice and decision of the peoples that never choose to be annexed nor integrated and embedded under unequal rights as second class citizens in a colonial status and to be ruled by the Hague. A status that was overwhelming rejected with a No-vote of 66% in the last referendum of 2015 and the recent island council election where your government denied the people of  St Eustatius democracy and could not vote, the people of Bonaire protested and boycotted this election as never before and continue showing their unhappiness towards a system a government which is against the wishes of the peoples.

As never before I write this letter with a lot of positivism and hope for our peoples of Bonaire that you as the new minister of Kingdom Relations with your first working visit and introduction to our island will understand our situation and our struggle contrary to all your predecessor ministers of Kingdom relations. All prior ministers and your accompanying state-secretary Mr Knops and us could never reached an understanding or consensus on the  most simple fundamental aspect of humanity that we  'all are born equal in rights and dignity' and we Bonerians have the same right to be as free and as equal and as human as them the European Dutch.

I expect that you before coming to our island and as my previous letter to you in March 2018 kindly asked you to take note of my various previous letters to the Dutch government in which I am informing your Government that your dictatorial un-democratic course of actions infringes against your own agreed treaties and the international legislation.

Your visit fuels us with reborn hope to be freed from this illegal colonial status imposed on us on October 10, 2010. The reason we put our hope back in a Dutch minister, in your honorable, is because of the compelling facts that you are completely different then your predecessors and you would be able to understand and feel our pain and help us:

You studied and have a MA in history and have the capability to look into our common colonial history and understand this hidden dark truth where the Dutch being a insignificant fishing village became one of worlds richest nations through piracy, smuggling and slave-trading. Your travel-partner mr Knops publicly proclaimed to me during his first visit to Bonaire that he don't know nothing about our collective colonial past and treaties and human rights and this illegality does not seem to interest him either. However recently Mr Knops admitted based on continues criticism of the Advisory Council of International Affairs (AIV) on violation of the Fundamental Human Rights in the Kingdom that your cabinet has decided to change course, and that Human Rights treaties will now apply not only in the European Netherlands , but also in the Caribbean Netherlands. This good news increases our hopes. Our hope is now fully fixed at you as besides your capability to study and understand the history, what is more compelling, is that your father a Finnish-Swede was born in a Dutch colony, in Sumatra and lived and understood colonialism and that in the 21^st century, anno 2019, that colonialism is a crime against humanity declared by the international community and United Nations. As all previous Dutch ministers and statesmen have shown no human-feelings towards us as they see us as as not-equal and not-as-human as themselves and as colonized peoples this could be a  deficiency either by mis-education of human values or could be transferred by Dutch-ancestral-DNA. Your ancestry that your are not Dutch but Finnish-Swedish could save us from the current course of systematic eradication , ethnic cleansing of the Bonerians.

Above arguments that you may possess human compassion towards us contrary to your predecessors, we appeal on your humanity not to be accomplice with this crime against humanity and be at the wrong side of history and according to above recent proclamation that your cabinet will change its course and respect our Human Rights to start immediately by respecting and restoring the first and most fundamental human rights of self-determination and right to self-governance of the Bonaire and Statian peoples.
