US Major General Smedley Butler figured that out, and wrote about it in his 1935 book entitled WAR IS A RACKET. He explained how the US uses wars to enrich its corporations. This is why the US ignores its own Constitution, the United Nations' (UN) Charter, and the rule of law.
The evidence is in the fact that almost 40 million Americans live in poverty, and 201 million more live from paycheck to paycheck, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are also Americans. Only 35% of Americans are satisfied with their multiparty so-called "democratic" political system.
Moreover, there is also the fact that the US Empire has consistently refused to comply with 43 UN resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico's sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and almost half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico also live in poverty. Bad Bunny made reference to Puerto Rico's colonial relationship with the US in his Super Bowl Halftime Show, which is the real reason why President Trump hated it!
95% of Americans and the world consider the US as the biggest threat to democracy. Take, for example, the fact that the Strait of Hormuz was open for everyone, until the US decided to start an illegal war against Iran. Today, that decision is wrecking the entire world economy!
The US claims to be the "champion of democracy" in order to mask its imperialism. The US has the audacity to falsely accuse the People's Republic of China of being a dictatorship. But the fact of the matter is that China eradicated poverty, despite having 11 trillion dollars less than the US, and having 4 times the US' population. Over 90% of Chinese are satisfied with their one party communist political system!
In order for We the People to enjoy democracy, our government must also, like China, be determined to never allow its oligarchs to ever run our nation!
