How far have we strayed from human rights?

Do we need a second Bill of Rights?

In the original concept of the formation of the United States is the idea that people had a right to a revolution.  When government stops representing its citizens, it is up to citizens to insist that government must.

Join us in 3 protests a year to insist that the US government comply with the United Nations' 34 resolutions asking it to immediately decolonize Puerto Rico.  We must because, those who violate human rights by maintaining Puerto Ricans in Puerto Rico as its colony don't believe in JUSTICE FOR ALL!

We have to force the United States government to comply with the United Nations 34 resolutions asking it to immediately decolonize Puerto Rico.  Join us in our 3 protests a year until that happens.  We must because, those who violate human rights by maintaining Puerto Rico a colony, don't believe in JUSTICE FOR ALL!

You can't believe in JUSTICE FOR ALL when you violate HUMAN RIGHTS

Click on the following link to read the United Nation’s (UN) 2014 report on the United States’ record on human rights. http://www.truth-out.org/news/item/22887-un-human-rights-committee-finds-us-in-serious-violation

This is how the United States (US) government institutionally violates people’s human rights every day.  If it does this at home to its own citizens, you know that it will not treat anybody else any better.  So, this notion that the US government spreads that it is a nation that respects the rule of law is obviously false.  This is why, we advocate that citizens must protest to make their government follow the law.

The US government is violating international law by maintaining Puerto Rico a colony of the US.  The US government has ignored 34 UN resolutions asking it to immediately decolonize Puerto Rico.  The US will never decolonize her unless it is forced to.

Every year, the UN holds its annual hearing about Puerto Rico decolonization on the Monday following Fathers’ Day.  We will be having a protest march for Puerto Rico decolonization every year on that same day at 9 AM from Hunter College to the UN.  Please join us so that one day this march will be so big that the US government will have to comply with the UN’s resolutions.  Martin Luther King Jr. said that “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”  And we say, those who violate their own citizens’ human rights, and maintain colonies, don’t believe in “JUSTICE FOR ALL!

Rafael Cancel Rodríguez

Rafael Cancel Rodríguez
16 de noviembre de 1900 – 17 de agosto de 1977

Rafael Cancel Rodríguez
mil gracias por ser quien fuiste,
pues con tu ejemplo me diste,
las armas para ser libre.
¡Gracias!

nubarrones y tormentas,
hoy se siente mi conciencia
como el puño de un gigante.

Pues he vencido los miedos,
he vencido los complejos,
y no vivo prisionero
de la cárcel del yo tengo.

Gracias te doy, padre mío,
porque he vivido la vida
de pie y sin ay benditos
junto a los nacionalistas.

Y me siento ser mi dueño,
libre en todo sentido,
portador de mi destino,
cien por cien puertorriqueño.

Puerto Rico tiene que salir del closet / Puerto Rico has to come out of the closet

Many people don’t know that Puerto Rico has been a colony of the United States government for the last 117 years.  That is why people don’t understand why Puerto Rico is always in a crisis.  A colony will always be in crisis, because she is being exploited for the sole purpose of the empire.  If it were not for that, why have a colony?

Do you know that the United Nations (UN) holds an annual hearing to discuss the decolonization of Puerto Rico?  It is usually on the Monday after Fathers’ Day.  Do you know it is in its third decade trying to eradicate world colonialism?

The reason people don’t know these things is because the major news media that represent the 1% of the United States (US) citizens don’t want them to.  The government of Puerto Rico never broadcasts this hearing on its own government radio and television stations.  The UN itself has never broadcasted live this hearing on its own radio and television stations.  Wouldn’t you have thought that it would have been broadcasting this hearing from day one!

Do you know that the UN has issued 34 resolutions asking the US government to immediately decolonize Puerto Rico, and that it has ignored all of them?  How could we move this forward?  We have decided on a 3 part approach to get this moving.

We have already initiated part one.  We have written to the almost 200 ambassadors represented by the UN to ask them to present for voting in the General Assembly our proposal to broadcast live the annual UN hearing about Puerto Rico decolonization.

We have already initiated part two.  We asked 10 ambassadors to propose that the UN declares October 12th International World Decolonization Day.  We could inform the world on that day about all of the existing colonies, and we could all do to decolonize them.  That would really be in line with the message the UN has on its website saying, “It’s your world.”

We will be initiating soon part three.  We will be meeting with a senator of the Puerto Rican government to discuss a bill to broadcast live on its public government station the UN’s annual Puerto Rico decolonization hearing.

All these parts have to do with the fact that you can’t sell what you don’t advertise.  We can’t decolonize Puerto Rico if the world doesn’t even know she’s a colony!

We ask that you get involved and help us get Puerto Rico out of the closet.  The US will never do it on it, because it gets 14 dollars for every dollar it invests in Puerto Rico.  And besides, those who have colonies don’t believe in justice for all!
