Pa’ Vega Baja con Oscar nuestro Héroe Nacional / To Vega Baja with Oscar our National Hero

Our ex political prisoner Norberto Gonzalez Claudio and his wife Elda will be working the Vega Baja Town Square in our To the Town Square with Oscar our National Hero permanent campaign.

Our national hero, Puerto Rican political prisoner Oscar López Rivera has been in jail for the last 34 years for his struggle to decolonize his homeland.  Oscar has the right under international law to use any means necessary to decolonize Puerto Rico.  The United States (US) government violates that same law by maintaining Puerto Rico as its colony for the past 117 years.  Therefore, the real criminal is the US government, and not Oscar!

We will begin on Friday, January 29, 2016 at all of the 78 town squares in Puerto Rico and the diaspora.  Norberto and Elda have requested the townspeople to be at the town square at 7PM.  Bring your t-shirts, flags, banners, flyers, songs, poems and dances about Oscar López Rivera.

We want every 29th of the month to have more people at each of the town squares.  When Oscar is released from prison, we want everybody to go to their town squares to give him a tremendous welcome back home!

We need people to be in charge of the rest of the town squares in Puerto Rico and the diaspora.  If you would like to be that person, please call Edwin Chungo Molina at 561-758-7509.  Please spread the word to make this campaign a huge success!

This campaign must be permanent, because those who keep political prisoner for 34 years in violation to international law, don’t believe in JUSTICE FOR ALL!

Juan Gonzalez explains Puerto Rico's Debt Crisis

Click on the above link to hear Juan Gonzalez from Democracy Now give an excellent explanation about Puerto Rico's debt crisis.

Juan explains how Puerto Rico has been exploited.  He shares graphs that show how the wealth produced in Puerto Rico leaves her, because of our colonial relationship to the United States government.

If we could produce so much wealth for the 1% to the point that Puerto Rico is a gold mine for the United States government, no one should doubt that Puerto Rico could be a very prosperous country in her own right.

We need to continue to protest peacefully and permanently for Puerto Rico decolonization, because those who have abused Puerto Ricans for 117 years, don't believe in JUSTICE FOR ALL!

Why the US lies to the world about Puerto Rico?

The governor of Puerto Rico Alejandro Garcia Padilla recently wrote a letter to the secretary general of the United Nations (UN) Ban Ki-moon about the White House’s position regarding the Puerto Rico v. Sánchez Valle case where it said that Puerto Rico is a colony of the United States (US).  The governor said in his letter that either the US lied to the UN in 1953, or it is lying now.
In 1953, the US told the UN that Puerto Rico had obtained self-government in 1952 through its new government called the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.  The US petitioned the UN to remove Puerto Rico from its list of colonies.  Since then, Puerto Rico does not appear in the UN’s list of colonies.
In 2008, the then governor of Puerto Rico Anibal Acevedo Vila spoke before the UN’s annual hearing on Puerto Rico decolonization, because he was upset about President Bush’s report on Puerto Rico.  The report said that the US government could sell Puerto Rico to any country it wants, if it desires.  He also asked the UN the same question.  Either the US lied to the UN in 1953, or it is lying in President’s Bush’s report.  Still, the US lies some more!
Our Puerto Rican political prisoner Oscar López Rivera has been in prison for 34 years for “seditious conspiracy to overthrow the US government in Puerto Rico”.  This is yet another lie!
This law was made during the US Civil War to make it a crime for the South to secede from the Union.  The law is for first class US citizens.  After the war, it was never used again until it was used against Puerto Ricans who fought for Puerto Rico independence.
The United States invaded Puerto Rico militarily in 1898.  After the October 30th, 1950 Nationalist’s Insurrection that focused the world’s attention to the fact that Puerto Rico was a colony of the United States, the US decided to create another lie to mask that fact.  The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico was that lie.
Despite the fact that Oscar is the one in jail, it is the US government that is the real criminal.  The US is violating the 1960 international law (UN Resolution 1514 XV) which prohibits colonialism, because it is a threat to world peace.  In fact, colonialism is considered by the international community as a crime against humanity.  President Bush asked, why do people hate us?  People do because the US government goes around committing crimes against humanity all over the world!  This is also why the world believes that the US government is the biggest threat to world peace!  The fact of the matter is that Oscar has the right under this law to use any means necessary to decolonize Puerto Rico.
The UN in 34 resolutions has asked the US to immediately decolonize Puerto Rico.  Since it refuses, in order to perpetuate its illegal relationship, it promotes plebiscites, supposedly so that Puerto Ricans could decide what they want.  This is, once again, another lie.  It doesn’t matter what Puerto Ricans want.  Colonialism is illegal, and Puerto Rico must be decolonized.  Once she is, Puerto Rico could do what she wants.
The US government lies, because it wants to keep Puerto Rico as its colony forever.  It’s time that we realize this, so that we could protest peacefully and permanently for Puerto Rico decolonization.  The protests are necessary, because those who lie to keep their colonies don’t believe in JUSTICE FOR ALL!

¡Caguas dice Presente! / Caguas says Present!

The Abuse of Power and the Assault on Democracy).

The town of Caguas has joined the campaign To the Town Square with Oscar our National Hero.  I had the opportunity to interview the people who will work Caguas Plaza.  Their names are Luis Galarza (787-236-7768) and Tito Dones.  Click on the following link to watch the interview: https://youtu.be/iRF7XuaI60o

The campaign is about gathering people on the 29th of every month at each of the 78 town squares in Puerto Rico and the diaspora to protest in favor of the release of our Puerto Rican political prisoner Oscar López Rivera, and the reason why he is incarcerated, the decolonization of Puerto Rico.

Oscar has been in prison for 34 years despite the fact that he has the right to use whatever means necessary to decolonize Puerto Rico.  Conversely, the United States (US) government, is the real criminal for maintaining Puerto Rico as its colony for the past 117 years.

International law considers colonialism to be a crime against humanity, because it threatens world peace.  The main reason for the creation of the United Nations (UN) was to maintain world peace.  Despite the fact that the US government was one of the main founders of the UN, it believes that it is above international law.  But, if all nations felt the same way, what would be the purpose of the UN?  That’s why Noam Chomsky calls the US government a failed state or an outlaw state (in his book, FAILED STATE: The Abuse of Power and the Assault on Democracy).

If you would like to join our campaign, call Edwin Chungo Molina (creator of this campaign) at 561-758-7509.

We will continue to protest monthly, because those who believe they are above the law don’t believe in JUSTICE FOR ALL!

Décima campaña: Pa’ la Plaza con Oscar Nuestro Héroe Nacional / Campaign song : To the Town Square with Oscar, our National Hero

Edwin Chungo Molina, the news reporter for InformacionAlDesnudo, is the creator of the campaign To the Town Square with Oscar, our National Hero.

The campaign begins on January 29, 2016.  The 29 is significant, because our Puerto Rican political prisoner Oscar López Rivera was arrested on March 29, 1981.

On the 29th of each month, people will convene in each of the town squares of the 78 municipalities in Puerto Rico and the diaspora to prepare a grand reception for the day when Oscar is released.  At present, Oscar has been in prison for 34 years for his struggle to decolonize his homeland.

Many people are unaware that Oscar has the right to use any means necessary to decolonize Puerto Rico, because international law considers colonialism to be a crime against humanity.  The main purpose for the creation of the United Nations (UN) was to maintain world peace.  The UN regards colonialism to be a threat to that world peace.  Therefore, it is the United States government that is the criminal!

José M. López Sierra, who will work Bayamón Town Square, wrote this song for the campaign.

We encourage others to write their own songs about Oscar to be sung on the 29th of each month at the town squares in Puerto Rico and the diaspora.

We will see you soon, because those who have colonies against international law don’t believe in JUSTICE FOR ALL!

PR governor upset that Obama believes PR is a colony

There is no worse blind person than the one who does not want to see is a popular saying in Puerto Rico.  It definitely fits Puerto Rico’s governor Alejandro Garcia Padilla.

In the entire history of Puerto Rico, she has always been a colony.  She was a colony of Spain for over 400 years, then she became a colony of the United States (US) for the last 117 years.  This is why the United Nations’ (UN) Decolonization Committee holds a hearing every year to discuss Puerto Rico decolonization.  The hearing is usually held on the Monday after Fathers’ Day.

Our financial crisis is due to the fact that Puerto Rico is administered solely for the interest of the US government.  Since the needs of Puerto Ricans are not being represented in what the US government calls a “democracy”, more Puerto Ricans lives off our island, than in.  But, that’s exactly what a colony is for.

The so called, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, was just a front to hide US colonial rule over Puerto Rico.  It worked, as the UN removed Puerto Rico in 1953 from its list of colonies.

Our Puerto Rican political prisoner, Oscar Lopez Rivera, has been in a US prison for 34 years for his struggle to decolonize his country.  Despite overwhelming Puerto Rico and international support for his liberation, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate and President of the United States has refused to do so.  Since the US government believes it is above the law, Noam Chomsky has characterized it as a “Failed State” or an “Outlaw State” (see Hegemony or Survival, Profit over People and Failed States).

It is important to note that the UN has asked the US government in 34 resolutions democratically adopted to immediately decolonize Puerto Rico, because international law considers colonialism a crime against humanity.  That decision was based on the idea that colonialism is a threat to world peace, and that was the main reason why the UN was founded after World War II.

The fact of the matter is that Oscar Lopez Rivera has the right under international law to do whatever is necessary to decolonize Puerto Rico, and it is the US government that is the criminal.

This is why we must continue to protest peacefully and permanently for the decolonization of Puerto Rico, because those who admit they have a colony don’t believe in JUSTICE FOR ALL!
