Press Release on Caribbean Decolonization

Bonaire, December 10, 2019

Historical successful 4th symposium on the political future, right of self-determination and reparations in the Caribbean

Foundation We Want Bonaire Back looks back on a very successful symposium that took place on Bonaire on the 6th, 7th and 8th of December. The main themes of the conference discussed were the right of self-determination and reparations in the Caribbean. Mr. James Finies, president of Foundation We Want Bonaire Back emphasized that one of the main objectives that the Foundation was founded on was to re-list, re-inscribe Bonaire on the list of Non-Self-Governing-Territories of the United Nations.

Bonaire was the scenario of this historical reunion where representatives of 9 Caribbean countries/territories that are still under colonial administration reunited.

Governments, leaders, experts, scholars, human rights defenders from Aruba, Curacao, Sint Eustatius, Bonaire, Puerto Rico, San Andres, Old Providencia, Virgin Islands US and Cayenne-Guiana all with the same common objective for justice, development and welfare for their peoples has shown solidarity towards the Bonerian peoples. We all are in the same struggle to regain, restore and respect of our fundamental human rights.

Highlights and revelations of common practice by the colonizers that emerged out of the presentations and discussions, was the fact that the modus operandi, the same system to divide, oppress and dominate all the colonizers are using against the territories and peoples that they have under their administration and domination.

The most impacting conclusions after the sessions of the academic-part that took place in the conference room of the Captains Dons Habitat and the public speeches in the Wilhelmina Park was that the only way forward is with a united-front direction of the international community and United Nations. Especially to be re-listed, re-inscribed on the list of Non-Self-Governing-Territories that falls under the Committee on Decolonization with its only objective; the protection of these territories and their peoples according to article 73 of Chapter XI of the United Nations and guide, facilitate and help them realize their development, welfare and self-government and finally to eradicate colonialism in all its existing forms in the Caribbean.

4th Symposium for Caribbean Decolonization

On the day before the symposium, a promotional event was held in Bonaire’s town square. Each delegate spoke about why this conference is important. Click on the following link to watch a video about pre-activities, and the town square promotion: https://youtu.be/qx3K3tNtrao

Information is the key to end colonialism which the United Nations’ Charter regards as a crime against humanity. Most people don’t know that, because empires keep that information from you!

That information will empower colonized people to engage in permanent resistance to force empires to comply with the will of the international community. Let spread the information, because those who colonize don’t believe in LIBERTY AND IN JUSTICE FOR ALL!

¿Hay democracia en PR? / Is there democracy in PR?

Why are there elections in Puerto Rico? Is it possible to govern Puerto Rico for Puerto Ricans? Impossible!

Puerto Ricans could elect the most honest, educated and committed people to the Government of Puerto Rico (GPR), but that would not matter. Puerto Rico would still be governed exclusively for the interest of the United States Government (USG).

The GPR is a camouflage for the colonial administration of Puerto Rico for the USG. Click on the following link to learn about the Anti Electoral Front: https://youtu.be/-jQZkpy52Y0. Its Facebook is: https://www.facebook.com/fae.pr.

The only way to govern Puerto Rico for Puerto Ricans would be to get the USG to return the sovereignty that it stole from us in 1898.

The most direct way to do that would be for the 9 million Boricuas worldwide to engage in permanent resistance to force the USG to comply with the United Nations’ Charter that prohibits colonialism, and its 38 resolutions asking the USG to return immediately Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans.

Puerto Ricans have always been willing to do whatever is necessary to free ourselves, but many of our leaders have lied to us. Click on the following link to learn how reformism has been used to deviate us from taking the revolutionary route: https://www.keepandshare.com/doc/6462438/01lucha-por-la-independ-pdf-517k?da=y

Click on this link to watch a video of one of our leaders lying to us: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVwiv-g7KiI&t=10s

Let’s unite to engage in permanent resistance, because reformism only helps the USG keep us colonized forever! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1697349163904877/
