Why would Puerto Rico engage in political elections, when she has been a US colony for the past 127 years? Puerto Ricans have been brainwashed by the US to believe that via elections is the only way to decolonize ourselves. That, of course, will never happen, because there could never be democracy in a colony! And here is the proof of that.

Two thirds, or 6 million, Puerto Ricans live away from our national territory today, and half of those remaining live in poverty. Is that because of US’ “democracy” or US’ imperialism?

Seventy years ago, the US and the United Kingdom overthrew the democratically elected government of Iran, because she decided to nationalize her oil. So, the US said the hell with democracy and independence, because US oligarchs need to get richer from Iran’s oil.

The Cubans ousted the US’ puppet government in Cuba in 1959 to gain her independence. The US still maintains an over 60 year illegal economic blockade against Cuba, against the will of 97% of the international community! Where is the US’ respect for democracy and the rule of law?
