Es importante destacar que Estados Unidos (EU) invadió militarmente a Puerto Rico en 1898 para convertirla en su colonia. Tan es así, que EU ha ignorado 42 resoluciones de la Naciones Unidas exigiendo la devolución inmediata de la soberanía de Puerto Rico a los puertorriqueños. 

EU tampoco representa la democracia para sus propios ciudadanos. Mientras que 9 de los 10 hombres más ricos del mundo son estadounidenses, 40 millones de americanos viven en la pobreza también, y 201 millones más viven de cheque a cheque. 

Por lo tanto, en vez de EU ser el "campeón de la democracia", es el campeón del imperialismo.

Western values do not benefit 99% of US citizens. While 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens, 40 million Americans live in poverty, and 201 million more live from paycheck to paycheck.

Western values do not benefit Puerto Ricans either. The US has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations' resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico's sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory in the meantime (gentrification), and half of the people in Puerto Rico live in poverty too!

The US has the audacity to call itself the "champion of democracy". What would you then call the People's Republic of China that has eradicated poverty in 2020, despite having 4 times the US' population?

Western values equal imperialism.

Americans are massively protesting against 40 years in which United States (US) oligarchs used the wealth generated by the mutually beneficial economic relationship with the People's Republic of China to only benefit themselves.

US colonialism is the problem

The United States (US) wants Puerto Rico to fall apart. If that were not the case, the US would have already complied with 42 United Nations' resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico's sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. Instead, it has allowed 6 million Puerto Ricans to have abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and allowed half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico to live in poverty.

US imperialism is not good for US citizens either. While 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are Americans, 40 million US citizens live today in poverty, and 201 million more live from paycheck to paycheck. Instead of being the champion of democracy as the US claims, it is obviously the champion of imperialism.

During the past 40 years of reciprocal beneficial economic relations with the US, the People's Republic of China, unlike the US, invested its wealth to benefit 1.4 billion Chinese. Today, China has eradicated poverty, despite having 4 times the US' population. That is why, as only 28% of Americans are satisfied with their government, over 90% of Chinese are satisfied with their government!
