This propaganda video shows how Puerto Rico’s colonial relationship has been kept
in the closet for the past 116 years.
It was made 3 years after the 1950 Puerto Rican Nationalist Party insurrection to call attention to Puerto Rico’s colonial relationship with the United States.
It was made the year after the United States (US) government decided to hide Puerto Rico’s colonial relationship by calling it “The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico” in English, or “El Estado Libre Asociado” in Spanish.
It was made in the same year that the US government asked the United Nations to take Puerto Rico off its list of colonies, because she had achieved self-government under the new Commonwealth of Puerto Rico political status with the United States.

And, a year after this video, 4
Puerto Rican nationalists attacked the US Congress on March 1, 1954 to call attention again
to Puerto Rico’s colonial relationship with the US government.
Join the tsunami of people
to peacefully protest on a permanent basis for the immediate
decolonization of Puerto Rico. We
propose at least 3 permanent protests a year, because those who have colonies,
and expend great efforts to hide it, don’t believe in justice for all!
