hear President Kennedys’ speech on how the United States (US) government should
be.
President Kennedy condemned secrecy in government. He invited transparency and welcomed citizens’ criticism. He said that, “A mistake doesn’t become a mistake, until you refuse to correct it.” And towards of the end of this speech, he said, “A man was born to be free and independent.”

Puerto Rico has never been free
and independent. For over 400 years, she
was a colony of Spain. For over 100
years, she has been a colony of the government of the United States. The United States government has ignored 33
United Nations (UN) resolutions to immediately decolonize Puerto Rico, since it
declared colonialism a crime against humanity.
Instead, the US government has jailed and kept incarcerated Puerto Rican
political prisoner Oscar Lopez Rivera despite heavy international pressure to
free him. The US government has therefore
proven to be no better than those governments it criticizes for human rights
violations. It has violated itself the human
rights of Puerto Ricans for 116 years!
Join our 2nd Oscar
– Mandela March in Puerto Rico on March 22, 2015 in to force the US government to
comply with the UN resolutions. It will
be on the very day that the abolition of slavery is celebrated in Puerto
Rico. This peaceful protest is necessary
because, those who have colonies don’t believe in justice for all!
