Propuesta para ayudar a Puerto Rico a superar su crisis / Proposal to help Puerto Rico with her crisis

Proponemos que 1 o 2 semanas antes de la vista anual en la Organización de Naciones Unidas de junio de 2016, tengamos un conversatorio con todos los interesados en ayudar a Puerto Rico a superar su crisis para discutir como lograrlo. 

Creo que debemos discutir como punto de partida si, ¿Estamos o no a favor con la resolución de la ONU pidiéndole a Estados Unidos que desconoce inmediatamente a Puerto Rico?  Sería importante saber, ¿Qué porciento está a favor, y en contra?

Si estamos a favor, debemos discutir cómo podríamos trabajar juntos para lograrlo.  Si no, debemos de discutir, ¿Qué otras acciones pudriríamos considerar para ayudar a Puerto Rico? 

Sería ideal que el conversatorio fuese en Hunter College, y auspiciado por los departamentos de estudios Latinoamericanos de todas las universidades.  Quisiéramos la más amplia participación de gente que está comprometida con Puerto Rico.

We propose that a week or 2 before the United Nations’ Puerto Rico decolonization hearing in June 2016, we have a symposium with everyone interested in helping Puerto Rico in her crisis to discuss how to do that. 

We believe that we should begin with the question: Are we or not in favor of the United Nations’ resolution asking the United States government to immediately decolonize Puerto Rico?  It is important to find out what percentage are in favor, and are not.

If we are, we should discuss how we could work together to get it done.  If we are not, we should then discuss what else could we do to help Puerto Rico.

It would be ideal if the symposium could be held at Hunter College, and sponsored by the Hispanic studies departments of all the universities.  We would want the most ample participation of all those committed to helping Puerto Rico.
