Is another NATO base worth a nuclear war?

The war in Ukraine is because the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) wanted Ukraine to become a NATO member, although Russia had expressed repeatedly that that represented an existential threat to her national security.

Many countries, including our own, were shocked to discover that the United States (US) is the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic, and that Cuba, a nation subjected to a US blockade for over 60 years, was not! But yet, 8 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens. Is our so-called “beacon of democracy” serving us, or her corporations? 

If the US government is serving its people, why does the world regard it as the biggest threat to peace? Why don’t US citizens have universal health care like all citizens of industrialized nations do? Do you know that the US’ gross domestic product (GDP) is 21 trillion dollars a year, while China’s GDP 2 thirds that amount at 14 trillion. And yet, Chinese citizens give their government an approval rating of over 95%, versus US citizens giving our government an approval rating of 40%!

The US media will never tell you this, because they are US corporations. But, as you can see, something is definitely wrong!

No es suficiente que una nación formalmente se descolonice. Eso, por sí mismo, no garantiza que una nación podrá gobernarse para sus intereses. La nación ahora tendría que descolonizarse, o limpiarse psicológicamente, de las estructuras de dominación que el imperio utilizó por 5 siglos. Si la nación no se descoloniza de la jerarquía de dominación colonial, nunca podrá gobernar para sus ciudadanos. La descolonización formal seria irrelevante, porque esa nación terminaría reproduciendo lo mismo que ella quería superar.

El concepto imperial de “estado nación”, por ejemplo, se tendría que cambiar a lo que lógicamente existe en la realidad. Todo estado es plurinacional. Y para poder ser verdaderamente democrático, tendríamos que reconocer a todas esas nacionalidades.

La descolonización culminada, por lo tanto, requerirá mucho análisis de la historia, para asegurarnos que las nuevas lógicas civilizatorias instaladas sean las que más promueven la vida humana y planetaria.

The UN member states, right now, are almost divided in half between the US and Russia. Russia has the most nuclear capabilities in the world!
