It does, but
not for the United States (US) government (USG)?
There are
about 580,466 homeless people in the US. Click on the following link to get the
details: https://endhomelessness.org/homelessness-in-america/homelessness-statistics/state-of-homelessness-2021/
If the
purpose of a democratic republic is to have a government of by and for her
citizens, how could the US, the richest nation in the world, with a gross domestic
product of 21 trillion dollars a year, have that level of homelessness?
How could
the US be the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic, with a million deaths,
while 8 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens?
And, how
could the US President Biden have signed, yet another bill, this time, a 40 billion
dollar aid package to “supposedly help Ukraine fight off the Russian invasion? https://www.npr.org/2022/05/10/1097883083/how-the-u-s-aid-to-ukraine-is-taking-shape
Charity
doesn’t begin at home for the USG, because it is a plutocracy. All that,
so-called “aid” to Ukraine, is to make the 1% of US capitalists even richer. Do
you know that US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin was on the board of directors
of one of the Military Industrial Complex companies? Look it up!
The USG has
maintained Puerto Rico as its colony for the past 124 years in violation of the
United Nations’ (UN) Charter that prohibits colonialism for being a crime against
humanity. The USG has also ignored consistently 40 UN resolutions asking it to immediately
return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otzBslJLbI0
Charity
would begin at home in a real democracy. And that is the problem that the 99%
of US citizens must resolve. https://todosunidosdescolonizarpr.blogspot.com/
US is bankrupt,
but not 1% of her citizens.
