Does the US care about self-determination?

In the absence of history, one might be inclined to think that the United States (US) cares about Taiwan’s inalienable right to self-determination and independence. But history tells us that the US has only cared about imperialism. Please click on this link for more: https://youtu.be/8RnSZOmvDDQ

While the US hypocritically says that it is willing to militarily defend Taiwan against the People’s Republic of China, which are the very same nation, the US has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ (UN) resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans.

The UN will hold its annual Puerto Rico decolonization hearing on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Most people are oblivious to that, since the US’ so-called “free press” keeps it quiet. The UN will again issue another resolution just like the previous ones, but who is going to force the US to comply?

It is important to mention that Taiwan has been prosperous, while Puerto Rico has been exploited. Two thirds of Puerto Ricans have abandoned our national territory in search of a better life during these 126 years of US colonialism. Half of those remaining on our island live in poverty.

It is equally worth mentioning that while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens, while 38 million Americans today live in poverty. China, on the other hand, has eradicated her poverty since 2020, despite having 4 times the US’ population.

The US only cares about self-determination for its oligarchs!
