You bet it
does! Click on the following link to watch an interesting video about that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWQHAOUKgJk
Every year,
usually on the Monday after Fathers’ Day, the United Nations (UN) holds a
hearing to discuss Puerto Rico decolonization. Puerto Rico has been a colony of
the United States Government (USG) for the past 120 years.
The USG is
presently in violation of the UN's Charter which prohibits colonialism. Moreover,
the UN has thus far issued 37 resolutions asking that the USG immediately
return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. The USG has simply
ignored the will of the international community.
Does the USG
believe in democracy? Does the USG believe in human rights? Does the USG
believe in the rule of law? Click here to get the answers to these questions
and to learn how Puerto Rico became a colony of the USG: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRHGdhRBG1M&t=31s
Do you know
that the United States’ (US) media do not report these annual Puerto Rico
decolonization hearings held in New York City? You would think that they would find
these hearings news worthy in a city where a very high concentration of Puerto
Ricans still live there! I am sure that even after Hurricane Maria the US media
will not mention this year’s June 17 hearing.
What is even
more spectacular than the US media blackout is the fact that the UN keeps these
hearings in the closet too! The UN usually does not broadcast these hearings
live for the whole world to see. One would expect that the UN would, considering
that the USG has ignored all of its 37 resolutions. The live broadcast of these
hearings would put pressure on the USG to comply with international law?
After trying
and failing to get the UN to broadcast the 2015 Puerto Rico decolonization
hearing, we broadcasted the 2016 hearing ourselves. Click on the following link
to watch it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otzBslJLbI0
That same
year, however, the UN retaliated by taking me off its list of petitioners for daring
to broadcast the hearing live.
We have a
protest march every year from Hunter College to the UN on the very day of the
Puerto Rico decolonization hearing. We do that to get Puerto Rico colonialism
out of the closet, and to create awareness that the USG is committing a crime
against humanity by refusing to decolonize her.
The group, A
Call to Action, holds a permanent protest for Puerto Rico independence at the
Ralph Bunche Park near the UN on the third Monday of every month from 5 to 7 PM.
The protest is called, 120 minutes for 120 years of colonialism.
In Puerto
Rico, we also have a protest for Puerto Rico independence on the 20th
of every month at 5 PM at the 2 Brothers Bridge in San Juan. Click here to
watch the January one: https://youtu.be/3ck0d2SCnGA
Help us make
a tsunami of people to force the USG to comply with the will of the
international community, because those who say they believe in democracy but do
the opposite don’t believe in LIBERTY AND IN JUSTICE FOR ALL! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1697349163904877/
The US controls
the media to control our minds.
