Bonerians discriminated in their own homeland

Press-release                                                                                        July 25, 2019

People's campaign to protect the Bonerian peoples identity and right to existence

With increase of discrimination and lack of respect to the local peoples of Bonaire despite a brand new local government, Foundation We Want Bonaire Back informs that we are forced to the point for a next step in the sake of the protection of the Bonerians peoples with regards to the state-structure and the governing of Bonaire.

Considering that the people of Bonaire do not have a democratic defense to protect them, their human rights, their rights to development and self-determination rights, We Want Bonaire Back launches an awareness campaign, both local and internationally, to publicize the injustice and our struggle of resistance.

Some latest developments has forced us to take a stand and confront this escalating racial discrimination against our Bonerian people:

(1)   Racial profiling and discrimination of our locals and Bonerians way of life by the imported European-Dutch marechaussee police force at our borders and on our own soil
(2)    Racial discriminatory allegations and actions against local traditional farming culture and deprivation of use of our own beaches, sea and natural resources by European-Dutch settlers immigrants
(3)    Racial discriminatory abusive declarations by president of Dutch supervisory media institution, Prof. mr. drs. Madeleine de Cock Bunings, a scholar, against our local people and media.
(4)   Furthermore recent racial discrimination against our local people that occupied leadership/heads of institutions  positions for decades by replacing them with European- Dutch from Holland with “so called better educated then our local heads of institutions” as possible payback of political favors as the old days of colonization throwing us back 200 years back when our ancestors were slaves. Examples/evidence are: (a) Jos Hillen appointed director of BIA (Bonaire International Airport) and OTB (Oil Trading Bonaire) (b) Albert Gieling appointed General Commander of the Fire Department (c) Weero Koster appointed director of Chamber of Commerce (d) the complete supervisory board of our local Utility co WEB are now European-Dutch (e) discrimination between locals and recruited European-Dutch civil-servants example as in the police force. Mostly all are recent developments of the new pro-Dutch government of MPB/UPB

All these reasons, a continued process of assimilation of the Bonarian culture, identity and way of life and replacing it with invasive racially superior settlers enjoying privileges that are completely supported by the imperial Dutch authorities.

This form of colonialism, known as settlers’ colonialism, if not addressed or stopped will last indefinitely.

The apartheid system, a type of settlers-colonialism as the world is still experiencing, started by same Dutch settlers, should be a lesson to all of us, mankind, civilized peoples, not to cooperate and remain silent and be accomplice to this racism based crimes against our peoples and against humanity.

We all have followed and have experienced the disastrous negative impact of the illegal settlers-immigration of European-Dutch after 10-10-10 to our island. A frightening increase of over 400% of immigration of non-Bonerians that has led to an insane population growth, doubling in less than nine years, and reducing, making the Bonerians a minority on his own island. Internationally this practice is known, identified, as ethnic cleansing, displacement and eradication or genocide of the local peoples supported executed by the local government, the Dutch government and their institutions.

Furthermore because the private sector led by the Chamber of Commerce along with the Rotary whose pro-Dutch leadership are under corruption/criminal investigation, and the social sector leadership, that both are duly aware that the people of Bonaire are suffering are unhappy and have democratically and legally rejected this illegal imposed colonial status, and due to the non-reaction of mentioned leadership on this disastrous development against the Bonaire's peoples, We Want Bonaire Back will initiate a defense awareness campaign against this uncontrolled illegal invasion and re-population by European Dutch settlers-immigrants of our island Bonaire: “Bonaire belongs to Bonerians since 1945 UN Charter – Settlers Makambas go home.”
