Another new
bill has been introduced in the United States (US) Congress to make Puerto Rico

But the fact
of the matter is that the US government (USG) has ignored Puerto Rico’s inalienable
right to self-determination and independence for the past 76 years. And that is
a crime against humanity!
If the USG
had wanted to do right by Puerto Rico, it would have complied with the United
Nations’ (UN) Charter that prohibited colonialism in 1945. But, it didn’t!
The USG’s criminal
intent is further corroborated by its decision to ignore, thus far, 39 UN
resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the

It would be
impossible for the USG to manage a process directed at resolving the crime that
it unilaterally committed in 1898. The USG has militarily occupied Puerto Rico
for the past 123 years. As a US colony, Puerto Ricans have no say in our
destiny. Thus, that bill can’t be about Puerto Ricans deciding our future. It
is just another trick!
The real solution
would be for the USG to return our sovereignty to us. We would then decide what
we want with no outside interference. But the USG has never wanted to do that,
because it wants to control Puerto Rico forever!
Many Puerto
Ricans erroneously believe that our goal should be to get equality for Puerto
Ricans in the US. Our goal, however, must always be for us to have the
opportunity to be all that we could be.
But for
that, we must engage in permanent resistance now, tomorrow and forever to force
