The exceptionalism of democracy

The exceptionalism of democracy is that citizens are able to change the direction of their government via elections instead of a civil war. United States (US) elections, however, are controlled by oligarchs.

The most startling evidence of that is the fact that the US is today unconditionally supporting the artificial colonial settler state of Israel to commit genocide against Palestinians in their own homeland of Palestine. Why would any real democracy do that?

It is important to mention that the US also committed genocide 248 years ago against the indigenous people of America in order to establish its own artificial colonial settler state. Therefore, it is not democracy that the US is spreading. It’s imperialism!

If the US were about democracy, why are 38 million Americans today living in poverty, while 8 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens?

If the US were about democracy, why has it consistently refused to comply with numerous United Nations’ (UN) resolutions demanding that it stop its illegal economic blockade on Cuba?

And, if the US were about democracy, why has it consistently refused to comply with 42 UN solutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans.

The US is a nation governed only for its oligarchs. That is why US Major General Butler wrote his book WAR IS A RACKET, and US President Eisenhower spoke about the Military Industrial Complex in his farewell address to the nation.

A democracy is only as exceptional as its people.

How exceptional are US citizens?
