Puerto Rico was not among the nations that decolonized themselves. She has been a US colony for the past 128 years against international law. The US has consistently refused to comply with 43 United Nations resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico's sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans.
6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and almost half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico live in poverty. The US government is today freaking out over Bad Bunny's Super Bowl Halftime Show, because he exposed on that world stage the US' contempt for the rule of law!
It is important to note that the US has never been about democracy and human rights. Today, almost 40 million Americans live in poverty too, and 201 million more live from paycheck to paycheck, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are also Americans.
China, which the US accuses of being authoritative, eradicated poverty 5 years ago, despite having 4 times the US' population, and having 11 trillion dollars less than the US. Over 90% of Chinese are satisfied with their one party communist political system!
Today, the US' desire to colonize the Islamic Republic of Iran is part of its plan to re-colonize the world. The Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China will not allow the US to do that. Should Iran look like it will fall, they will enter the war, because they know that they will be next.
MAKE NATIONS RESPECT SOVEREIGNTY!
