US Marine Major General Smedly Butler saw US imperialism, and, in 1935, wrote a book, WAR IS A RACKET, to explain how the US uses war to enrich its oligarchs at the expense of US soldiers' lives.
The previous year, some oligarchs approached Butler to lead the overthrow of US President Franklin D. Roosevelt, because they did not want to pay for his New Deal. Although Butler revealed the plot, the US did nothing to the oligarchs.

Almost half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico live in poverty too. Bad Bunny made reference to this in his Super Bowl Halftime Show, which infuriated President Trump!
As a result of US brainwashing, half of Puerto Ricans on the island want Puerto Rico to become another state of the US in order to achieve equality with the citizens on the mainland. Little do they know that 90% of Americans on the continent don't have equality with the top 10% of their fellow countrymen. Democracy is impossible under capitalism!
The US' strategy today, as its empire inevitably declines, is to blow up the world, while trying to remain the last nation standing.
