Our vision is a lie

The problem with United States (US) citizens is that we don’t know our own history. What we know are myths.

If our minds are chained, then our bodies need not have to be. Therefore, real liberation is contingent on decolonizing our minds. We know that government will not do that, because then it would be obligated to govern for the 100% of its citizenship. So, we must take on that challenge.

Puerto Ricans have not taken on that challenge, and we have paid dearly for it. We have been a colony of the US government (USG) for the past 121 years. Many of us don’t know that the USG is in violation to the United Nations’ (UN) Charter that prohibits colonialism since 1945, and has ignored 38 UN resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. http://webtv.un.org/watch/5th-meeting-committee-of-24-special-committee-on-decolonization/6051725003001/
