US wants to be on the wrong side of PR

There are bills in the United States (US) Congress supposedly so that the people of Puerto Rico could decide their political future.

The US government (USG) has sole responsibility for putting Puerto Ricans in this mess in this mess in the first place. It militarily invaded Puerto Rico, 123 years ago, to make her a US colony. Who could be so naïve as to ever believe that the USG will ever do anything to reverse that?

If the USG really wants to decolonize Puerto Rico, why hasn’t it ever complied with the United Nations (UN) Charter of 1945 that prohibits colonialism, because it is a crime against humanity?

If the USG really wants to decolonize Puerto Rico, why hasn’t it ever complied with 40 UN resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans? The USG hasn’t, because it wants to keep Puerto Rico as its colony forever. All these bills in Congress are just for show!

Puerto Ricans don’t have to decide anything. Colonialism is illegal, and the USG is committing a crime against humanity, for the past 76 years, by not immediately returning our sovereignty to us.

Instead of voting in phony plebiscites, the 9 million Puerto Ricans worldwide ought to be engaged in permanent resistance to force the USG to comply with international law. We could do today without any approval by the USG.
