Cooperation is a US security threat

The United States (US) claims to the champion of democracy, and yet the world considers her the biggest threat to peace. 64% of US citizens today are living from paycheck to paycheck. How could have the People’s Republic of China, an autocratic nation according to the US, eliminated poverty while having 4 times the US’ population, and the US, supposedly the freest nation in the world, still have 38 million Americans living in poverty?

Why is cooperation inconsistent with US “democracy”?
