People don’t benefit from US “democracy”

The United States (US) boasts that it is the champion of democracy, but there is no evidence of that! On the contrary, the evidence says the opposite!

Home prices have gone through the roof, while wages have remained low. Why?

The US is a “democracy” for the rich. 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens, while 38 million (11%) Americans live in poverty, and 201 million live from paycheck to paycheck.

Instead of the US responding to the problems of its citizens, it prefers to go to war against the Russian Federation, and support the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine against international law! Does that help the 99% of Americans? No. It only helps US oligarchs!

Another example, from many, is the US’ consistent refusal to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. The world considers the US as the biggest threat to peace. Today, the US has authorized Ukraine to use US missiles to attack inside Russia. Is the US risking World War III in order to defend democracy? No. It is risking a nuclear holocaust, so that US imperialism could continue forever.

Entones, ¿cómo podremos pensar, mientras somos una colonia, que nos podríamos descolonizarnos democráticamente?

¡América ni siquiera es democrático con sus propios ciudadanos! 38 millones (11%) de estadounidenses viven en la pobreza, y 201 millones (60%) viven de cheque a cheque. ¡Sin embargo, 9 de los 10 hombres más ricos del mundo son estadounidenses! Eso se llama correctamente una plutocracia.

Semejantemente, 6 millones (67%) de puertorriqueños viven fuera de nuestro territorio nacional (gentrificación), y el 50% de los 3 millones que vivimos en Puerto Rico viven en la pobreza. Por eso, EU no tiene problema apoyando el genocidio en contra de la gente indígena de Palestina.

Por lo tanto, nuestra descolonización solo se logrará vía la resistencia permanente, porque EU solo cree en su imperialismo ahora, mañana, y para siempre.
