Mercosur Adopts Resolution for Bonaire

Parlasur, the Parliament of Mercosur, comprising elected representatives from South America's The Southern Common Market (Mercosur) is a political and economic bloc comprising Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela, Bolivia, with Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru as associate members. Mercosur aims to foster democracy, and the protection of human rights across South America leading regional trade bloc.

In the 97th Ordinary Session of Parlasur, recently in December 2024, Gabriel Fuks, Parliamentarian and Head of the Argentine delegation to the Mercosur Parliament, proposed a groundbreaking declaration, which was adopted, supporting Bonaire's right to self-determination. This historic move endorses the Bonaire Human Rights Organization's (BHRO) call for re-inclusion on the United Nations' List of Non-Self-Governing Territories, bringing Bonaire's political status under the scrutiny of the UN Special Committee on Decolonization.

In a unanimous decision, the Mercosur Parliament expressed solidarity with the people of Bonaire, denouncing the political situation imposed by the Dutch government since 2010. Bonaire, a Caribbean island formerly part of the Netherlands Antilles, was incorporated into the Kingdom of the Netherlands as a "public body" without autonomy and without the consent of the people of Bonaire following the Antilles' dissolution. The Mercosur Parliament asserts that this action violates the island's inalienable right to self-governance as enshrined in international law.

This milestone was achieved through the relentless advocacy of James Finies, leader of Pueblo Progresivo Uni and founder of the Bonaire Human Rights Organization. Mr. Finies, a native of Bonaire, abandoned a 23-year banking career to activism, protesting Bonaire's political status after the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles in 2010. His 222-day and night non-stop during protest led to a referendum where a large majority of voters rejected the imposed integration.

His unwavering commitment has led him and his delegation to travel extensively across Latin America, the Caribbean, North America, and Europe, raising awareness and garnering support for Bonaire's self-determination. Their efforts have been instrumental in bringing international attention to the island's quest for Self-Determination.

The Mercosur declaration is grounded in a robust legal framework, citing key international instruments such as the UN Charter, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. The Parliament Mercosur acknowledges that Bonaire's status, a referendum where 66% of the voters rejected it, is inconsistent with democratic principles and the people's right to self-determination.

This resolution follows a 2021 report from UN experts, concluding that Bonaire’s current governance structure is a colonial remnant perpetuating inequality. The Mercosur Parliament's declaration aims to elevate the issue of Bonaire's self-determination to the international stage and urges Latin American and Caribbean states to rally behind Bonaire’s cause.

The resolution includes two key points:

1. Solidarity with the people of Bonaire: The Mercosur Parliament expresses unequivocal support for Bonaire’s request for re-inclusion in the UN's list of Non-Self-Governing Territories, subjecting the Dutch-imposed governance structure to international review.

2. A call for international advocacy: The declaration encourages Latin American and Caribbean governments to support Bonaire’s bid, ensuring that the island’s right to self-determination is protected and promoted globally.

The Mercosur Parliament’s historic decision is a crucial step in addressing the ongoing colonial injustices faced by Bonaire, reinforcing the region’s commitment to human rights, equality, and the empowerment of all peoples to self-determination.

Boricuas adoctrinados / Indoctrinated Boricuas

Who in the world receives this woman as a hero.”

¡Empecemos descolonizando a nuestras mentes!

The majority of Puerto Ricans have been indoctrinated, during 127 years of being a United States (US) colony. I created the blog called United Comrades for the Decolonization of Puerto Rico in 2011 to counter that. Puerto Rico does not appear in the top ten nations visiting my blog this month. Why?

The majority of Boricuas believe that Puerto Rico is a democracy, because the US is the so-called “champion of democracy”. Only a brainwashed person could ever think that! A Boricua commented about Ana Belén Montes, see video at the end, “As a Puertorican she's a traitor. Who in the world receives this woman as a hero.”

What democracy could exist in a nation that militarily invaded Boriken in order to make her its colony?

What democracy could exist in a nation that says that it supports Taiwan’s inalienable right to self-determination and independence, when it has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. And, in the meantime, 6 million Boricuas have abandoned our national territory (gentrification), and half of us who remain, live in poverty. https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k1w/k1wb1xdn6i https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k15/k154ku9q8x

What democracy could exist in a nation that has maintained Cuba under an economic blockade for over 60 years against international law?

And, what democracy could exist in a nation that unconditionally supports the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine against international law? Nobody in his right mind would believe that the US is a democracy!

Instead of the 9 million Boricuas worldwide engaging in permanent resistance to force the US to comply with international law, most Boricuas prefer to participate in colonial elections in Puerto Rico, like if we have democracy, when even the US doesn’t have it!

The US is a plutocracy. Today, while 38 million Americans live in poverty, and 201 million live from paycheck to paycheck, 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens.

The world, therefore, considers the US as the biggest threat to peace. The US considers its enemy any nation that resists its domination. Please click on the following link to see how the US presents the Boricua, Ana Belén Montes, who has refused to be brainwashed: https://youtu.be/7tGGdJwbiEU

Let’s begin decolonizing our minds!

The US is isolated

The United States (US) has succeeded in isolating itself in its obsession of “America First” no matter what! The war against the Russian Federation, the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine against international law, trying to go to war with the People’s Republic of China under the pretext of supporting Taiwan’s inalienable right to self-determination and independence, and even stabbing its own allies in the back. Please click on the following link to understand how the US is collapsing from within, because it has also turned its back on 99% of US citizens to favor oligarchs: https://youtu.be/SGYVsCFLBLY

Are you aware that while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are Americans, 38 million US citizens live in poverty, and 201 million live from paycheck to paycheck?

Are you aware that the US, while claiming to support Taiwan’s independence, has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans? And, in the meantime, 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned our national territory, and half of those still living in Puerto Rico live in poverty! https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k1w/k1wb1xdn6i https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k15/k154ku9q8x

Although the US claims to be the “champion of democracy” without any proof of that, China has eradicated her poverty despite having 4 times the US’ population.

US citizens must take control of our government, which is in complete denial that the US Empire is collapsing. It is totally unrealistic that 4.5% of the world’s population could continue to be the global dictator.

A real democracy is not a global dictator.

US collapses from within

The United States (US) Empire will collapse due to corruption, just as all other have. The American Dream has vanished for the majority of its citizens, because today that dream is only for oligarchs. Please click on this link for more: https://youtu.be/EgUE0mA0Fis

That is why today 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are US citizens, while 38 million Americans live in poverty, and 201 million live from paycheck to paycheck.

And, that is why the US has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. In the meantime, 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned our national territory (gentrification), and half of the 3 million who still live in Puerto Rico live in poverty.

The US could exist as a real democracy, but we must first gain the control of our government.

Freedom is not free!

Desbloqueando a Cuba

US’ warpath to China

The United States (US), the so-called “champion of democracy” is on the warpath towards the People’s Republic of China based on lies. Nobody believes that the US seeks democracy, as the world considers it as the biggest threat to peace. What the US seeks is to be the global dictator. Please click on this link for more: https://youtu.be/g3bIg0aGNHU

The US is instead the champion of fake news. The world must create a way to insulate itself from US propaganda to prevent opposition groups in a nation to coup the democratically elected government.

Instead of trying to colonize China, why isn’t the US helping 38 million of its own citizens to get out of poverty, and help the 201 million Americans who live from paycheck to paycheck? The US doesn’t, because colonizing the world will make the 9 of the 10 richest men in the world who are Americans even richer!

That explains why the US is today supporting the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine against international law, and why the US has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k1w/k1wb1xdn6i https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k15/k154ku9q8x

A democracy is never perpetually on the warpath.

Make US imperialism great again

The United States (US) has never been about democracy. If it were, would 38 million US citizens today live in poverty, and 201 million be living from paycheck to paycheck, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are Americans? Please click on the following link to understand the US’ plan to create a global dictatorship: https://youtu.be/MG_UzMTh82w

The world already regards the US as the biggest threat to peace, and with good reasons. The US is supporting the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine against international law. The US is at war today against the Russian Federation, which has the most nuclear weapons in the world, in order to colonize her. And, the US wants to fight the People’s Republic of China under the pretext that it supports Taiwan’s inalienable right to self-determination and independence. But if that were true, why has the US constantly refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans?

The US frames its wars as battles between democracy and autocracy. Democracy, however, is not what the US fights for! BRICS, who does, will fight against the US’ ambition of creating its global dictatorship.

The struggle for democracy against the US.

Dutch's deception about decolonization

Below is summary of James Finies article in the commemoration book published on 15th December 2024 : 70 years Charter of the Kingdom of the Netherlands: Lust of Last? compiled by: Rene Zwart and Glenn Thode

The Dutch Kingdom's Statute, signed in 1954, played a pivotal role in the Netherlands Antilles' removal from the United Nations' list of non-self-governing territories. This strategic move, executed on December 15, 1955, was not about granting the territories true autonomy, as was claimed, but about consolidating Dutch control and ending international oversight of their decolonization. Despite claims of achieving full self-government, the territories, including Bonaire, had not met the UN’s standards for decolonization.

The Netherlands succeeded in its goal of having the Antilles removed from the UN list, claiming they had achieved autonomy. However, many UN members, such as Uruguay, rejected this assertion, noting that the territories still lacked true self-government. These countries left open the possibility for future decolonization efforts. The Statute, designed to resemble a failed model for Indonesia, became a tool for the Netherlands to maintain control, dividing the Antilles and ensuring unequal political representation, particularly giving Curaçao and Aruba disproportionate power in the Netherlands Antilles parliament.

This political maneuver was part of a broader effort by the Dutch government to suppress independence movements across the Caribbean. Key figures advocating for decolonization were silenced through political manipulation, legal actions, and even assassination. Leaders like Helmin Wiels and Betico Croes were either marginalized or met untimely deaths, with the death of Croes remaining suspicious to this day. Meanwhile, Aruba’s push for self-governance culminated in a 1977 referendum where 95% of voters supported independence, further highlighting the growing dissatisfaction with the status quo.

The Statute, despite being presented as a step toward autonomy, was not a true form of self-determination for the Antilles. Instead, it became a colonial reform that allowed the Netherlands to maintain control over its territories, particularly through a skewed allocation of political power.

Bonaire's situation worsened on October 10, 2010, when the island was unilaterally transitioned from being part of the Netherlands Antilles to a public entity under Dutch sovereignty. This change violated Bonaire’s right to self-determination, despite a 2015 referendum in which the island’s population rejected the shift. The Netherlands proceeded with annexation, disregarding the democratic choice of Bonaireans.

James Finies has passionately fought for the urgent relisting of Bonaire as a non-self-governing territory under the United Nations, emphasizing the critical need to protect the island’s cultural identity and self-determination.

Dr. Carlyle Corbin’s recent *Bonaire Self-Governance Assessment* critiques the 2010 transition, noting that it has perpetuated political, economic, and social inequalities on the island. The report highlights significant disparities, including lower political rights and social benefits for Bonaireans compared to mainland Dutch citizens. Corbin argues that the governance model imposed on Bonaire reflects colonial-era practices, disguised as democracy, and perpetuates a racialized, unequal system.

In light of these findings, Bonaire's relisting as a non-self-governing territory under the UN is to protect and safeguard its cultural identity and autonomy. This call for relisting underscores the ongoing struggle for true decolonization and self-determination for Bonaire and other territories within the Dutch Kingdom. Despite the promises of the Statute, the legacy of colonialism continues to impact these islands, hindering their ability to chart a course toward genuine freedom and equality.

What is democracy?

Democracy is a system where the government of a nation is driven by the will of the majority of its citizens, and bound by its Constitution. The United States (US) claims to be the “champion of democracy”. Is that so?

No.

The fact of the matter is that while 38 million US citizens live in poverty, and 201 million live from paycheck to paycheck, 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are Americans. That makes the US the champion of plutocracy!

What does the US do, instead of solving its citizens’ problems?

The US decides to go to war against the Russian Federation, which has the most nuclear weapons in the world, in order to colonize her.

The US is today supporting the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine against international law!

The US is trying to go to war against the People’s Republic of China under the pretext that it supports Taiwan’s inalienable right to self-determination and independence. But if that were true, why has the US consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans?

And in the meantime, 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned our national territory (gentrification), and half of the 3 million who remain in Puerto Rico live in poverty! https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k1w/k1wb1xdn6i https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k15/k154ku9q8x

The US, with less than 5% of the world’s population, wants to rule the world forever.

The US is a declining empire.

martes, 24 de diciembre de 2024

Imagine the opposite?

What would happen if the People’s Republic of China would be supporting today Puerto Rico independence? After all, the United States (US) has been consistently refusing to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans.

And in the meantime, 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned our national territory (gentrification), and half of the 3 million who still remain in Puerto Rico live in poverty. Please click on this link to understand the US’ clear violation to international law in order to advance its imperialism: https://youtu.be/6E3o0G_0-0k

Because of Puerto Rico and US history, nobody believes the US’ claim that it supports Taiwan’s inalienable right to self-determination and independence. The world knows that the US is the biggest threat to peace! https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k1w/k1wb1xdn6i https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k15/k154ku9q8x

That has been proven once again by the US today being at war against the Russian Federation, which has the most nuclear weapons in the world!

The US is desperately trying to hold on to its hegemony, but the 85% of the world is aligning with BRICS in order to create a democratic and multipolar world order.

The US is today isolated with its 15% of the world that wants imperialism to last forever.

Oligarchs hate international law!

Who’s the real madman?

Western media portray the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, as a madman. The world, however, considers the United States (US) as the biggest threat to peace. Please click on this link for more: https://youtu.be/0pI_7eEjYKs

The US has 800 military bases around the world. Today, the US is supporting the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine against international law. The US decided to wage war against the Russian Federation, which has the most nuclear weapons in the world. And the US is anxious to provoke a war against the People’s Republic of China using as a pretext that it supports Taiwan’s inalienable right to self-determination and independence.

If that were true, why has the US consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans? In the meantime, , 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned our national territory (gentrification), and half of the 3 million who have remained in Puerto Rico live in poverty. https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k1w/k1wb1xdn6i https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k15/k154ku9q8x

Any nation would be crazy not to do what Kim Jong Un has done to deter the US from colonization North Korea.

The US, far from being the “champion of democracy” that it claims to be, is the champion of imperialism.

The US is the crazy one!

BRICS rescata a Cuba

Socialism’s next step

Capitalism hated the Russian Revolution so much that Britain, France, Japan and the United States (US) sent troops to Russia in order to destroy her 1917 revolution. Obviously, these nations have never believed in self-determination and independence! Please click on this link for more: https://youtu.be/AQYXYrkF95M

As the US’ hegemony declines, 85% of nations are looking to create a real democratic and multipolar world order. What could be the next step for socialism?

Since you can’t get more democratic than to have workers themselves run and operate their own workplaces that should be socialism’s next mountain to climb.

Oligarchs will try hard to prevent worker cooperatives, but by studying and learning from history, workers could make it happen.

15 % of the world’s population make up the G7, and these nations claim to be democracies. Ironically however, the G7 is supporting today the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine against international law!

The US, in particular, has consistently ignored 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. In the meantime, 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned our national territory (gentrification), and half of the 3 million who have remained in Puerto Rico live in poverty. https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k1w/k1wb1xdn6i https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k15/k154ku9q8x

Capitalism can never create democracy.

Does the US want peace?

If the United States (US) really wants peace, it would have accepted the Russian Federation’s peace proposal made 34 years ago, after the collapse of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Since the US has always wanted imperialism since its birth as an artificial colonial settler state 248 years ago, it decided instead to make Russia its enemy. Please click on the following link for more: https://youtu.be/F04Hd0CWEP0

Today, the world regards the US as the biggest threat to peace. That designation has been further solidified by the US’ unconditional support for the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine against international law. The US’ “Rules Based Order” is the opposite of international law.

Because the US wants imperialism instead of peace, it has consistently ignored 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. In the meantime, 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned our national territory, and half of the 3 million who still live in Puerto Rico live in poverty. https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k1w/k1wb1xdn6i https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k15/k154ku9q8x

US wants perpetual wars!

Who benefits from Israel?

The artificial colonial settler state of the United States (US) and its western allies benefit from the artificial colonial settler state of Israel. Simply said, only 15% of nations that lie about being democracies benefit from Israel. Please click on the following link for more: https://youtu.be/7Q0u3OND4V4

The 85% of nations that, on the contrary, have been exploited by imperialism, have named the US as the biggest threat to peace. They desperately want a multipolar and democratic world order insulated from US hegemony.

How could the US seriously call itself the “champion of democracy”, when today it is unconditionally supporting the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine against international law? How could the US call itself the “champion of democracy”, when it has had an over sixty year economic blockade against Cuba against international law? And, how could the US call itself the “champion of democracy”, when it has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans? https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k1w/k1wb1xdn6i https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k15/k154ku9q8x

Israel is an important extension of US imperialism.

US imperialism benefits from Israel.

Is terrorism democracy?

For the United States’ (US) fake news establishment, terrorism conveniently becomes democracy in order to sell its imperialism to the world. That sounds a lot better than correctly saying that the US is a nation of, by, and for oligarchs. Please click on this link for more: https://youtu.be/x4nCcrJM4Ts

In the case of Puerto Rico, the US has consistently ignored 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. In the meantime, 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned our national territory (gentrification), and half of the 3 million who still live in Puerto Rico live in poverty. https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k1w/k1wb1xdn6i https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k15/k154ku9q8x

85% of the world’s population wants a revolutionary change to the present US unipolar world order. Many nations in the global south want to join BRICS, because it represents a real democratic world order.

Make America Great Again means that the US wants to maintain forever a win-lose relationship with the rest of the nations of the world. Win-lose relationships are imperialistic, and therefore makes it impossible for the US to seriously claim to be the “champion of democracy.

Terrorism is imperialism!

How to control US imperialism

The best way to control United States (US) imperialism is to stop using the US dollar. The dollar is what has enabled the US to colonize the world. Please click on this link to learn more: https://youtu.be/t2uFyUgv0Do

Why a real democracy would need 800 military bases around the world? Why would the world consider a real democracy to be the biggest threat to peace? Why a real democracy would commit genocide in order to create its own “democratic nation”? Why a real democracy would be supporting today the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine against international law? And, why a real democracy has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that the US immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans?

Only the champion of imperialism would do what the US has done during its 248 year history. Therefore, BRICS’ de-dollarization is the correct strategy for the creation of a global democracy via a multipolar world order.

No dollar no US Empire.

US violates other’s sovereignty

Here is the latest example of the so-called “champion of democracy”, the United States, violating the sovereignty of Syria. Please click on the following link for more: https://youtu.be/qicLi6kqt7M

The US is today illegally occupying one third of Syria in order to steal her oil and wheat. US has rebranded US imperialism into US “democracy”.

Today, US “democracy” is also supporting the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine against international law. As an artificial colonial settler state that committed genocide itself, the US is helping Israel to do the same. The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants against the so-called Israeli “democracy”. It should have done the same against the US government!

For the past 127 years, the US has had Puerto Rico as its colony. The US has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. In the meantime, 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned our national territory, and half of the 3 million who live in Puerto Rico live in poverty! https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k1w/k1wb1xdn6i https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k15/k154ku9q8x

BRICS is our hope to democratize the world from the existing US unipolar world order.

Real democracies respect the rule of law!

Is imperialism dead?

Imperialism is still alive, but it has been rebranded as “democracy”.

The same empires depicted in this video are still at it, but the United States (US), the so-called “champion of democracy” now heads the West, which is composed of only 15% of the world’s population. Please click on this link to watch a video about imperialism: https://youtu.be/FgIWQZVaWio

The US is an artificial colonial settler state created by the genocide of the indigenous people of North America. The Nazis learned that from the US, and applied it against the Jews and other groups in Germany.

Israel is also another artificial colonial settler state that was created by the genocide of the indigenous people of Palestine. Today, “never again” has been put aside by the West in order to unconditionally support Israel’s genocide under the guise of democracy, and Israel’s right to defend itself.

Today, while the US claims to support Taiwan’s inalienable right to self-determination and independence, it has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. In the meantime, 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned our national territory, and half of those living in Puerto Rico live in poverty. https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k1w/k1wb1xdn6i https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k15/k154ku9q8x

BRICS is the only real hope of controlling imperialism. That is why the West calls BRICS’ win-win foreign policy dictatorial. We understand that, because the West has turned word definitions upside-down to try to maintain its imperialism forever!

Imperialism is still alive via “democracy”.

The US has lost against Russia

The United States (US) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization have lost against the Russian Federation in Ukraine. Instead of Russia being turned into rubble, it has been the West. Please click on this link for more: https://youtu.be/6c7qW8g73-M

US citizens have lost, and the nation itself has also lost on the world stage.

38 million US citizens live today in poverty, and 201 million live from paycheck to paycheck. It is a joke for the US to claim to be the champion of democracy, because there is no evidence of that. On the contrary, the fact that 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are Americans, is proof that the US is instead the champion of imperialism!

While the US says that it supports Taiwan’s inalienable right to self-determination and independence, the US has consistently refused to comply with 42 United Nations’ resolutions demanding that it immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. Obviously, as we can also see with the US’ support of the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine, the US could not care less about human rights!

US allies have also been weaken by blindly following US foreign policy. And they have now realized that the US refuses to help them in their time of need. Therefore, the US’ win-lose approach applies to US allies as well.

The 85% of humanity are now acutely aware that the West is against us. The global majority will now unite in order to stop the 15% from destroying the world.

The US can never be great again!

Bonaire’s indigenous population down 50%

Press Release 18 December 2024

James Finies, leader of Pueblo Progresivo Uni, and Davika Bissessar-Shaw, president of the Bonaire Human Rights Organization (BHRO), recently concluded two weeks of successful advocacy in the United States. Their efforts included lobbying at the United Nations and engaging in working seminars to advance human rights, decolonization, and justice for Bonaire and other colonized territories.

A central focus of their work was advocating for Bonaire’s inclusion on the United Nations list of Non-Self-Governing Territories. This recognition is essential for enabling Bonaireans to exercise their right to self-determination. Finies highlighted the alarming decrease in the native Bonerian population, which has fallen from 80% to less than 30% since the breakup of the Netherlands Antilles in 2010. Calling October 10, 2010, “a nightmare” for the island, he attributed much of the blame to local politicians who failed to safeguard the rights and identity of Bonaire’s people. BHRO emphasized that listing Bonaire as a Non-Self-Governing Territory is critical to preserving its unique culture and identity.

The delegation also participated in the 35th Session of the Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent (WGEPAD), contributing to discussions on systemic inequalities and injustices faced by African descendants worldwide. They co-hosted a side event titled, “Reparative Justice and Decolonization: Advancing Human Rights for African Descendants in Colonized Territories”, which brought together global activists and policymakers to address the lingering effects of colonialism.

In commemoration of International Human Rights Day on December 10th, BHRO underscored the importance of advancing dignity, freedom, and justice for marginalized communities, particularly those in vulnerable territories like Bonaire.

On the same day, the Bonaire Human Rights Organization Foundation, represented by James Finies, formalized a partnership with United for Human Rights, represented by Emma Sims, through a Memorandum of Understanding. This partnership aims to develop education and training programs focused on human rights across Bonaire, Curaçao, and Aruba (the ABC Islands). This initiative marks a significant step toward fostering awareness and empowering communities in the region to protect and promote fundamental human rights.

Bissessar-Shaw also addressed the Dutch government’s apology for its role in slavery and the 200 million reparations payout. She criticized the distribution of funds, noting that 100 million went back to Holland for a museum, while only 33 million was allocated to Suriname and the former Netherlands Antilles, leaving each Antilian island with just 5 million. She called this an inadequate response to centuries of exploitation and injustice.

The BHRO urges locals and long-term residents to recognize that rising sea levels and the bleaching of coral reefs is exaggerated and not the immediate threat. The real crisis and threat to Bonerians is the decline of the local population from 80% to less than 30% now, which the Dutch government ignores despite the 2015 referendum rejecting the illegal integration. False narratives, as GreenPeace Holland, Special Envoy to UN ex-governor Rijna and now the Climate Table all using locals for false propaganda to divert attention from this issue.

Through their advocacy, BHRO shone a spotlight on Bonaire’s struggles and called for global support to secure the island’s rights and self-determination. The organization reaffirmed its commitment to fighting for justice, equality, and the survival of Bonaire’s people in the face of systemic marginalization and the legacy of colonialism.
