The US has never wanted peace

The last thing that the United States (US) has ever wanted is peace. So much so. that today the world regards the US as the biggest threat to peace. The US has amazingly and single handedly pushed the Doomsday Clock to 89 seconds to midnight. How could the US seek peace, when it has today almost 40 million Americans living in poverty, and 201 million more living from paycheck to paycheck, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are also Americans?

And, how could the US be the champion of democracy, when it has consistently refused to comply with 43 United Nations resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico's sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans? 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico live in poverty too.

War is indispensable, because the US can't colonize via peace. Major General Smedley Butler realized in the 1930's that his country was using war in order to profit US oligarchs, and wrote a book about it named WAR IS A RACKET. 

The US will continue to use war to enrich oligarchs, until the majority of Americans wrestle their sovereignty from them. 

Can America become a real democracy?
