Does US care about Taiwan's democracy?

The United States (US) provides military weapons to Taiwan to supposedly protect it from the People's Republic of China. Taiwan is internationally recognized, including the US, as a province of China. The US, therefore, is knowingly meddling in the internal affairs of China against international law!

Does the US really care about Taiwan's democracy? That would be impossible, since the US doesn't even care about its own democracy. 

That is why today almost 40 million Americans live in poverty, and another 201 million more live from paycheck to paycheck, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are also US citizens. Only 35% of Americans are satisfied with their multiparty "democratic" political system.

That is why Marine Major General Smedley Butler was motivated in 1935 to write his book, WAR IS A RACKET, to explain how the US uses wars, not for national defence, but to enrich its corporations. 

That is why, in 1973, US President Nixon turned American healthcare into another racket to exploit his own citizens. 

And, that is why the US Empire has consistently refused to comply with 43 United Nations' resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico's sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and almost half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico also live in poverty. Bad Bunny made reference to Puerto Rico's colonial relationship with the US in his Super Bowl Halftime Show, which is the real reason why President Trump hated it!

President Trump went to visit China accompanied by the wealthiest men in America. He wants to make deals with China to benefit US corporations. Therefore, the US weapons to Taiwan are just one of the many ways it sabotages China's rise that seriously threatens US hegemony.  

The US only cares about its hegemony lasting forever.
