Is the best defense a good offense?

US Federal Budget FY12 Estimated Spending Breakdown - Pie Chart

Click on the link above to learn about the United States’ (US) federal budget.  As you can see, for the “Budgeted Federal Spending for FY 2012”, 25% of it was for defense.

The question that leaps out at me is who or what is the United States afraid of?  It should be obvious to most people that the high percentage in the Defense Department is really to use the military for offense.

If you evaluate why a large number of nations dislike the US, it is because of her involvement in the affairs of other nations that are not any of her business!

In the case of Puerto Rico, the US had no right to take her away from Spain to make Puerto Rico her own colony.  But that didn’t stop her from doing so.  It had nothing to do with the respect of the rule of law, human rights, or her belief in democracy.  The US did what she did simply because she wanted to, and had the power to do so.  But what does that have to do with a deep conviction of “justice for all”?  Isn’t this the same thing that has been happening since the beginning of time?

Join the protest for the decolonization of Puerto Rico, because those who practice or accept colonialism do not believe in JUSTICE FOR ALL!
