The United States (US) Empire made a huge mistake by not monopolizing itself the processing of rare earths. Since the US is run by oligarchs seeking to quickly become richer, and rare earth processing is very expensive, dangerous, and time consuming, the US was happy to allow China to do it. Today, China has the monopoly on rare earth, and has the ability to shut down the US from the same high technology that it has been trying to shut her out of. 

The US will never want to join the multipolar world order, because it feels superior to all other nations. The best that the global majority could do is to deny the US the resources to continue colonizing the world. 

The US has had Puerto Rico colonized for the past 127 years. The US is still trying to colonize the Russian Federation via the war in Ukraine. And, although the US has refused to comply with 43 United Nations resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico's sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans, it deceptively claims today to support Taiwan's inalienable right to self-determination and independence. This only because the US wants to try to justify a war against China in order to colonize her too!
