What does an oligarchy look like?

In 1935, when the top .00001% owned 2% of the US national wealth, US Marine Major General Smedley Butler wrote a book, WAR IS A RACKET, where he explained how the US uses war to only profit its corporations. A year earlier, oligarchs approached him about leading a coup d'etat against US President Franklin D. Roosevelt, because they did not want to pay for his "New Deal".

Not only do US soldiers die in wars of choice, but almost 40 million Americans live today in poverty, and another 201 million more live from paycheck to paycheck, so that 9 of the 10 richest men in the world could be Americans. No wonder only 35% of Americans are satisfied with their so-called multiparty "democratic" political system.

The US Empire has consistently refused to comply with 43 United Nations' resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico's sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. 6 million Puerto Ricans have thus abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and almost half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico also live in poverty. Bad Bunny made reference to Puerto Rico's colonial relationship with the US in his Super Bowl Halftime Show, which is the real reason why President Trump hated it!

The People's Republic of China, not governed for only oligarchs, eradicated poverty in 2020, despite having 11 trillion dollars less than the US, and having 4 times the US' population. Over 90% of Chinese are satisfied with their communist party, which proves that a democracy needs a government strong enough to prevent oligarchs from running the nation.
