Why hasn’t the UN eradicated colonialism in 60 years?

Tune in to this week’s episode of Fanachu! featuring Dr. Carlyle Corbin, an internationally recognized expert on self-governance and non-self-governing territories.

According to the United Nations, 17 forms colonies remain in the world today in need of decolonization (although the true number would be much higher). Dr. Corbin will share his thoughts as the UN prepares to inaugurate The Fourth International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism.

Episode will be live on Facebook on Thursday (12/17) at 11 am Chamorro Standard Time and on Wednesday (12/16) at 9 pm Atlantic Standard Time in the US Virgin Islands.

Puerto Rico has been a United States (US) colony for the past 122 years. The US government (USG) has been willing to commit a crime against humanity in order to do this. The USG has violated for the past 75 years the United Nations’ (UN) Charter that prohibits colonialism, and has also ignored 39 UN resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. http://webtv.un.org/watch/5th-meeting-committee-of-24-special-committee-on-decolonization/6051725003001/

Let’s find out why!
