The United States (US) has had Puerto Rico as its colony for the past 127 years. 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and half of the people in Puerto Rico live in poverty. The US has consistently ignored 42 United Nations' resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico's sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. The US abuses its own citizens too.
40 million Americans live in poverty today, and 201 million more live from paycheck to paycheck. Only 28% of US citizens are satisfied with their government. 100% of US oligarchs, however, are extremely satisfied with their government, as 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are Americans.
The US has had an illegal economic blockade against Cuba for over 60 years. Over 90% of the international community wants that blockade to end immediately. The US, although it claims to be the champion of democracy, goes against the will of the majority.
The US is unconditionally supporting the genocide against the indigenous people of Palestine, again, against international law.
And today, the US is imposing tariffs on many nations around the world. That will make prices rise for the 97% of Americans who are employees. The US' actions are not consistent with democracy. They are consistent with imperialism!
US' "democracy" abuses the world!
