¿Dónde es que Gutiérrez no ve el cuadro grande?

1.      Él admite que la deuda es de Puerto Rico

2.      Él reconoce que Puerto Rico es propiedad del gobierno de Estados Unidos como el portavoz de la cámara le recordó

3.      Él admite que Puerto Rico es una colonia de Estados Unidos, pero busca dejarla así, solo proponiendo algunos cambios para reducir nuestro dolor.

4.      Él menciona a King George de Inglaterra, en lugar de mencionar el hecho de que el gobierno de Estados Unidos viola la ley internacional (Resolución 1514 XV de la Organización de Naciones Unidas de 1960) al mantener a Puerto Rico como su colonia.

5.      Él menciona a King George de Inglaterra otra vez, en lugar de mencionar que el gobierno de Estados Unidos ha ignorado 34 resoluciones de la ONU pidiéndole que descolonice inmediatamente a Puerto Rico.

Aunque Gutiérrez logre su propuesta, Puerto Rico continuaría siendo la colonia más vieja del mundo.  Por eso es que después de 118 años de coloniaje, Puerto Rico todavía no tiene un consenso para descolonizarnos.  Hay muchos como Gutiérrez que creen que tenemos que cooperar con el imperio.  Ellos creen que algún día el imperio le dará pena con nosotros y hará lo correcto.  Los que creen así, tampoco ven el cuadro completo.

Las colonias son para explotarlas.  Creer que algún día el imperio hará lo correcto para nosotros es totalmente irracional. ¿Qué seria racional?

Lo racional seria llegar al consenso de que nosotros no podemos cooperar en lo absoluto con el imperio.  Deberíamos luego coordinar protestas pacíficas y permanentes hasta que el gobierno de Estados Unidos cumpla con las 34 resoluciones.   

¡Esto tendría más sentido que lo que propone Gutiérrez, porque los que mantienen colonias no creen en la JUSTICIA PARA TODOS!

Where is he not seeing the big picture?
 

1.      He accepts the lie that the debt belongs to Puerto Rico.

2.      He acknowledges that Puerto Rico is a property of the United States as the House Speaker reminded them.

3.      He admits that Puerto Rico is a colony of the United States, but seeks to leave her there by suggesting to only make certain changes to lessen our pains.

4.      He mentions King George of English, instead of mentioning the fact that the US government is in violation of international law (UN Resolution 1514 XV of 1960) by maintaining Puerto Rico as its colony.

5.      He mentions King George of England again instead of mentioning that that US government has thus far ignored 34 UN resolutions asking it to immediately decolonize Puerto Rico.

Even if Gutiérrez gets what he is asking for, Puerto Rico would still remain the oldest colony in the world.  This is why after 118 years of colonialism Puerto Rico does not have a consensus for her decolonization.  There are too many people who believe that we have to cooperate with the empire.  They believe that the empire will someday take pity on us, and do the right thing.  Here again, people who believe that are not seeing the big picture.
 

Colonies are designed for exploitation.  The belief that one day the empire will do the right thing by us is totally irrational.  What would be rational?
 

The rational thing would be for us to reach the consensus that we definitely cannot cooperate with the empire.  Then, we should collectively coordinate peaceful and permanent protests until the US government complies with the 34 UN resolutions.

This would make a lot more sense than what Gutiérrez is proposing, because those who have colonies don’t believe in JUSTICE FOR ALL!

Diaspora summit to respond to PR crisis

Introduction

The primary goal for the conference is to provide a safe space for the discussion of policy issues and the articulation of community responses to the crisis from the perspective of stateside Puerto Ricans and other stakeholders. To achieve this goal, the conference program is designed to balance topics related to the economic, fiscal, and unfolding humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico and of its impacts on stateside Puerto Ricans.

The first part of the conference, taking place Friday morning, will be devoted to an understanding of the current situation in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is in a prolonged recession that started in 2006 and has resulted in a fiscal crisis, severe austerity measures and cuts of public services, and a massive migration to the United States, leading to a significant decline in the island’s population.

The second part of the conference, taking place Friday afternoon, will be devoted to an understanding of how the economic crisis in Puerto Rico has impacted the stateside Puerto Rican community.

The closing program on Saturday will focus on ongoing efforts to articulate a diaspora response to the crisis, an agenda for stateside organizations to move forward with coalition building, and in that context a discussion of the leading support role that Centro may play in the future.

If you analyze the complete program above, you will not see any mention of Puerto Rico's 118 years of colonialism.  That is incredible!  That would be like a ship having a huge hole, and nobody wants to acknowledge it.

How good could the diaspora's response to Puerto Rico's crisis be, if the main reason for it is not even mentioned in this program?  It is understandable why the United States government doesn't want to talk about colonialism, but why not Puerto Ricans?

The government is the only one benefitting from colonialism.  If Puerto Ricans want to really address Puerto Rico's crisis, we must see the real problem, and demand our immediate decolonization with one voice. 

Puerto Rican unity is indispensable, because those who maintain colonies don't believe in JUSTICE FOR ALL!

Los verdaderos culpables

Mis queridos compatriotas boricuas,

 

No caigamos en la trampa de acusarnos los unos a los otros por la crisis de la cual no somos culpables.  No hagamos de las víctimas los victimarios.  Es lo que quieren los verdaderos culpables de esta crisis, que son los buitres de  Wall Street y la élite que controla a los Estados Unidos. 

 

Sé que el coloniaje golpea la autoestima de los colonizados, lo que nos hace presa fácil del poder colonial.  En Puerto Rico tenemos pillos y políticos corruptos, pero así también los Estados Unidos.  El mismo estado de coloniaje en que nos tienen es un acto corrupto e inmoral.  Como tienen la fuerza bruta, se creen con el derecho de abusar de los pueblos.  Conoce la historia de los Estados Unidos y verás que no exagero.   No te culpes de lo que otros son culpables y no te dejes engañar. ¡Defiéndete, pueblo mío!

Transmisión WIPR vista PR ONU 2016 / WIPR Broadcast PR UN hearing 2016

La Corporación de Puerto Rico para la Difusión Pública se ha comprometido con el Pueblo de Puerto Rico a transmitir por WIPR 940AM la vista sobre el caso colonial de Puerto Rico en la Organización de Naciones Unidas (ONU). 

La vista será el lunes, 20 de junio de 2016, el día después del Día de los Padres, a las 9 AM.  Esta vista es para que el Comité de Descolonización (C-24) escuche a los peticionarios sobre la situación en Puerto Rico, y luego pedirle una vez más al gobierno de Estados Unidos mediante una resolución  que inmediatamente descolonice a Puerto Rico.  El año pasado, 36 peticionarios representando organizaciones sociales, profesionales, ciudadanas y políticas participaron en la vista.  Estas vistas son permanentes todos los años hasta que Puerto Rico se descolonice.

Esperamos que todo el mundo en Puerto Rico escuche y grabe esta vista por la radio.  Si la ciudadanía respalda masivamente esta transmisión por radio este año, estoy seguro que la Corporación consideraría seriamente transmitirla también por televisión el año que viene.

Estamos tratando ahora de que la ONU transmita en vivo estas vistas por radio y televisión todos los años para que el mundo se entere de primera mano sobre nuestra situación.  Le estamos pidiendo a toda persona que nos ayude a presionar al C-24 para que se logre esto. 

InformaciónAlDesnudo de Nueva York estará grabando esta vista para hacer un documental. 

Puerto Rico no se descolonizará hasta que los puertorriqueños lo exijan con una sola voz.  La transmisión de estas vistas ayudaría grandemente a crear la indignación colectiva y mundial para obligar al gobierno de Estados Unidos a cumplir con las 34 resoluciones que hasta ahora ha ignorado. 

¡Tenemos que descolonizarnos con solidaridad puertorriqueña, porque los que mantienen colonias en violación al derecho que tiene todo pueblo a su autodeterminación e independencia, no creen en la JUSTICIA PARA TODOS!

The Puerto Rico Public Broadcasting Corporation has agreed to broadcast on WIPR 940AM this year’s United Nations’ (UN) hearing on Puerto Rico decolonization. 

The hearing will be on Monday, June 20, 2016, the day after Fathers’ Day, at 9 AM.  This hearing is for the Decolonization Committee to hear petitioners about the situation in Puerto Rico, and then ask once again via a resolution that the United States government immediately decolonize Puerto Rico.  Last year, 36 petitioners representing civic, social, professional and political organizations participated at the hearing.  These hearings are permanent every year until Puerto Rico is colonized.

We hope that everybody in Puerto Rico will listen and record this hearing on the radio.  If the people support massively this year’s radio transmission, I am sure that the Corporation will seriously consider broadcasting next year’s hearing on television too.

We are now trying to get the UN to broadcast live on radio and television these hearing every year, so that that world could become aware firsthand about our situation.  We are asking everyone to help us put pressure on the UN to achieve this.

New York’s InformacionAlDesnudo will be recording the hearing to make a documentary. 

Puerto Rico will not be decolonized, until Puerto Ricans demand it with one voice.  The broadcasting of this hearing will greatly help generate the global and collective indignation needed to force the United States government to comply with the 34 UN resolutions that it has thus far ignored.

We must decolonize ourselves with Puerto Rican solidarity, because those who maintain colonies despite the right that a nation has to her self-determination and independence don’t believe in JUSTICE FOR ALL!
