This is the first time I have seen churches go on record denouncing Puerto Rico’s colonial relationship with the United States.  It represents their conviction to state their belief, and their willingness to accept whatever consequences may result from it.  This is a very courageous thing to do, but so necessary to create the needed changes in our society.

That, in my opinion, is the essence of understanding (education).  It is the willingness to do something about what one understands.  Because if we don’t, what good is understanding?

It is so promising to know that there are people committed to improving our society in whatever way they can!
