¿Se podría descolonizar a PR a través de las elecciones? / Could PR be decolonized through elections?

Imposible.  ¿Por qué?

El 1 % hace las leyes de Estados Unidos para los 99%.  El 1 % esta, obviamente, por encima de la ley.  Por eso es que el 1 % quiere que Puerto Rico pague por ser colonia de Estados Unidos en lo que muchos están llamando, “la deuda de Puerto Rico”.  ¡El 1 % nunca pierde!

Noam Chomsky dice en la página 146 de su libro PROFIT OVER PEOPLE que, sobre 200 años en la primera democracia de sus días, Oliver Goldsmith observó que “las leyes molían a los pobres, y los ricos hacían las leyes”.    “El que hace la ley, hace la trampa” es un dicho popular en Puerto Rico.  Pedro Albizu Campos dijo que “si se pudiera alcanzar nuestra independencia por la vía electoral, el yanqui eliminaría las elecciones.”  Tratando de descolonizar a Puerto Rico por la vía electoral, es como tratar que ganar en un casino donde los juegos han sido diseñados para que los jugadores nunca ganen.  ¿Por qué, entonces, 80% de los puertorriqueños votan en las elecciones coloniales?  

El gobierno de Estados Unidos nos ha lavado el cerebro.  La historia siempre la escribe el que gana.  Este gobierno ha tenido 117 años para forjar la mente del puertorriqueño para servir sus intereses.  El 1 % sabe que podrá mantenernos en el coloniaje para siempre si nos controlan nuestras mentes.  Si el 99% supiéramos la verdad, podríamos utilizar nuestra fuerza numérica para detener el 1 % a pesar de su riqueza y poderío.  ¿Cómo es que nos ha lavado nuestros cerebros?

Lo hace a través del sistema de educación pública, la imposición de su ciudadanía estadounidense en contra de nuestra voluntad, el terrorismo de estado como las masacres de Ponce, Rio Piedras y Utuado, y los asesinatos como los del Cerro Maravilla y del líder Machetero Filiberto Ojeda Ríos. 

La mayoría de los puertorriqueños piensa que es nuestra obligación votar en las elecciones, y si no lo hacemos, no debemos hablar.  Muchos puertorriqueños creen que vivimos en una democracia, aunque Washington tenga la última palabra sobre lo que pasa aquí.  ¿Entonces, cómo nos descolonizaremos?

Sabemos que la Organización de Naciones Unidas (ONU) no lo hará.  El gobierno de Estados Unidos controla la ONU.  ¿Cómo sabemos eso?

La ONU hasta el momento ha emitido 34 resoluciones pidiéndole a este gobierno que inmediatamente descolonice a Puerto Rico, y las ha ignorada todas.  El video de la mañana de la última vista sobre la descolonización de Puerto Rico donde el presidente del comité dijo sentirse insultado porque después de que la ONU le prometió transmitir en vivo la vista, se negó hacerlo a última hora.   La resolución de la última vista nunca se ha publicado en la página cibernética de la ONU como se acostumbra hacer.  ¡Obviamente, este gobierno quiere esconder ante el mundo su relación colonial con Puerto Rico!

Sabemos que se tomará mucho tiempo para revertir 117 años de lavado de cerebro.  Pero, mientras más y más puertorriqueños se den cuenta de la verdad, más y más podrían decidir no votar en las elecciones coloniales.  De esa manera le estaríamos diciendo al mundo que no somos la democracia que el gobierno de Estados Unidos quiere hacerte creer. 

A su vez, debemos de protestar permanentemente y pacíficamente.  Una vez tengamos el tsunami de gente necesario, y exijamos  otra vez más nuestro derecho inalienable a la autodeterminación e independencia, este gobierno, al igual que en Vieques, no tendrá otra opción que no fuera el cumplir con las 34 resoluciones. 

Cuando seamos nuestra propia nación, tendremos que mantenernos vigilantes, porque este gobierno tratará, como lo ha hecho tantas veces por todo el mundo, de instalar un gobierno títere para que nos puede seguir explotando.  ¡Tenemos que nunca bajar la guardia, porque los que gobiernan para el 1 %, no creen en la JUSTICIA PARA TODOS!

Impossible. Why?

The 1% makes the laws of the United States (US) government for the 99%.  And that 1%, of course, is above the law.  This is why the 1 % wants Puerto Rico to pay the cost of her colonial relationship with the United States in what many are calling the “Puerto Rico’s debt”.  The 1 % never wants to lose!

Noam Chomsky says on page 146 of his book PROFIT OVER PEOPLE that over 2 hundred years ago in the leading democracy of his day, Oliver Goldsmith observed that “laws grind the poor, and the rich men make the law”.  “He who makes the law makes the trap” is a popular Puerto Rican saying.  Pedro Albizu Campos said that if Puerto Rico’s independence were possible through elections, the US government would abolish them.  Trying to decolonize Puerto Rico via elections would be like trying to win in a casino that is rigged, so that the players will always lose.  So why do 80% of Puerto Ricans vote in the colonial elections in Puerto Rico?

The US government has brainwashed our minds.  History is always written by the winner.  The US government has had 117 years to mold Puerto Ricans to serve its interest.  The 1 % knows that it could stay in power forever, if it could control our minds.  If the 99% ever knew the truth, it could use its numerical power to stop the 1%, despite its enormous wealth and power.  How have we been brainwashed?

It has been achieved through the Puerto Rico education system, the imposition of US citizenship against our will, state terrorism like the Rio Piedras, Utuado, and Ponce Massacres, the assassinations like in the Cerro Maravilla and the Machetero leader Filiberto Ojeda Ríos.  

Most Puerto Ricans believe that it is their duty to vote, and if they don’t vote, than they shouldn’t complain later.  Many believe that Puerto Rico is a democracy, although they know that Washington has the final word on what happens here.  So how do we decolonize ourselves?

We know that the United Nations (UN) will not do it.  It is controlled by the US government.  How do we know that?  

The UN has thus far issued 34 resolutions asking the US government to immediately decolonize Puerto Rico, and it has ignored them all!  The morning session’s video, of the last Puerto Rico decolonization hearing where the Chairperson said that he felt disrespected when the UN at the last minute decided not to broadcast live the hearing after telling him it would, has never been available for public viewing on its WEBCAST as it is normally done.  The resolution of this year’s hearing has never been published on the UN website as it usually does.  Obviously, the US government wants to hide to the world its colonial relationship with Puerto Rico!

We know that it will take a long time to reverse 117 years of brainwashing.  But, as more and more Puerto Ricans become convinced that we are destined to be its colony forever, more and more Puerto Rican could choose to stop voting in the colonial elections.  This way we can say to the world that we are not the democracy that the US government wants it to believe!

Instead, we should protest permanently and peacefully.  Once we get the tsunami of people necessary, and demand once again our inalienable right to self-determination and independence, the US government, like in Vieques, will have no other choice, but to comply with the 34 UN resolutions. 

Once we become our own nation, we must permanently stay vigilant, because the US government will try to install, as it has done so many times before in many parts of the world, a puppet government to continue exploiting us.  We must do so, because those who govern only for the 1%, definitely don’t believe in JUSTICE FOR ALL!
