US government is a rich fool

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered a powerful and emotional sermon at the Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois on August 27, 1967. He called it, “Why Jesus called a man a fool”. Click on this link to hear what King said:  https://youtu.be/xo-6BNtq5RY

Dr. King was assassinated about 7 months after this sermon. The United States Government (USG) knew by the time of this sermon that King was determined to go all the way to get full equality for all United States (US) citizens. History has taught us that the USG was not going to allow that! For those who say that only time will fix racism in the US, the fact of the matter is that today, the USG is still just as racist as it was on July 4, 1776.

To dramatize this, I call attention to the shameful fact that the USG has maintained Puerto Rico as its colony for the past 120 years. US racism has violated the United Nations’ (UN) Charter that prohibits colonialism for the past 73 years. US racism has ignored thus far 37 UN resolutions asking it to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. Today, the world overwhelmingly agrees with Dr. King’s assessment made 52 years ago that the USG is a fool. The world has even intensified the adjective by naming in 2014 the USG as the biggest threat to peace. The USG has continued on its foolish path of exploiting anyone and anything to accumulate all of the wealth in the world for itself. The USG, like the rich man in King’s parable who built more barns to store his wealth, does not intend to share the wealth it has robbed from the world with anyone! Since fools don’t listen to reason, that’s why they are fools, what can people of good will do?

We must engage in permanent resistance like the one Dr. King led in Montgomery Alabama to desegregate buses there. They had to stop riding the city buses for 13 months, before the government allowed desegregation.

We must also engage in this kind of permanent resistance to force the USG to comply with, not only God’s law, like King would have said, but also with the desire of the international community since 1945!
