How close are we to human extinction?

Professor Noam Chomsky spoke last year to a group of university students about what he believes is the most important question that could be asked. I took the liberty of paraphrasing the highly respected linguistics expert’s question to, Is human life at risk of extinction today?

He spoke about hearing the horrifying news in 1945 that the United States (US) had just obliterated the Japanese city, and how disturbing he thought people’s reactions were to that news. The USG is, by far, the sole culprit in heading the world on a doom’s day collision course towards world annihilation. What has been the US free press’ reaction to that? It has decided to keep it a big secret!

Chomsky said that the way to solve this mammoth man-made problem is for the USG to simply follow its own national laws, and international laws. The only problem with Chomsky’s solution is that the USG believes that laws are not for it!

So, the challenge for the 99% of us is to educate ourselves independently of the media to massively engage in permanent resistance to force the USG to comply with these laws.
