US abandoned globalization

The United States (US) once advocated for free trade, supply chains, and globalization, when it controlled the entire world's economic architecture. It argued that competition among producers of goods and services benefited consumers, because that guaranteed the best prices. 

As the US deindustrialized in the 1980's to avoid paying its workers a decent wage, and other nations began building better and cheaper products than the US, the US abandoned globalization, because it could no longer compete. US oligarchs are now openly preaching that competition is for losers, and that the goal of any company is to become a monopoly. Therefore, the US is the champion of monopoly, and not of democracy! That is why President Trump has waged a tariff war against the world. That is also why almost 40 million Americans today live in poverty, and another 201 million more live from paycheck to paycheck, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are Americans too. Only 35% of Americans are today satisfied with their multiparty "democracy". 

US Marine Major General Smedley Butler saw that, and wrote a 1935 book, WAR IS A RACKET, to explain how the US uses war to enrich its oligarchs at the expense of US soldiers' lives. 

The US has consistently refused to comply with 44 United Nations resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico's sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. 6 million Puerto Ricans, or two thirds of the nation, are today living away from their national territory, because the US has forced them to seek a better life elsewhere. Almost half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico live in poverty too. Bad Bunny made reference to the US' colonial relationship with Puerto Rico in his Super Bowl Halftime Show, which angered President Trump!

As a result of brainwashing, half of Puerto Ricans on the island want Puerto Rico to become another state of the US in order to achieve equality with the citizens on the mainland. Little do they know that 90% of them don't have equality with the top 10% of their fellow Americans, although they vote every 4 years.

The People's Republic of China, which believes in globalization, eradicated poverty, despite having 11 trillion dollars less than the US, and having 4 times the US' population. Over 90% of Chinese are satisfied with their government, which proves that democracy requires a government that prohibits oligarchs from running the nation.
