Americans living in vehicles

The US has never been the "champion of democracy". On the contrary, it has always been the champion of imperialism. That was made obvious by the US committing genocide against the indigenous people of North America in order to establish its settler colonial state. 

US Major General Smedley Butler made it even more obvious when he published his 1935 book, WAR IS A RACKET,  where he exposed the US' use of wars to enrich its corporations. The US also exploits its own citizens to benefit oligarchs!

Almost 40 million Americans live in poverty, and another 201 million more live from paycheck to paycheck, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are also Americans. Democracy can't exist with inequality!

Moreover, the US Empire has consistently refused to comply with 43 United Nations' resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico's sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and almost half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico also live in poverty. Bad Bunny made reference to Puerto Rico's colonial relationship with the US in his Super Bowl Halftime Show, which is the real reason why President Trump hated it!

The People's Republic of China, however, and without militarily invading any nation, has eradicated poverty, despite having 11 trillion dollars less than the US, and having 4 times the US' population. Over 90% of Chinese are satisfied with their one party communist political system, which means that a democracy needs a government strong enough to prevent oligarchs from running the nation.
