Decolonizing the "US back yard"

The United States' (US) illegal attempt to overthrow Venezuela's democratically elected government has become an excellent opportunity for the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation to show that Latin America is no longer the US' back yard. BRICS has put Venezuela's petition to become a full member on fast track. By Venezuela becoming a full BRICS member, China and Russia would legally be able to protect Venezuela from US hostility. And with the support of Latin America, the US would be hard pressed to continue with its regime change operation. That would then put an end to the US' "back yard" notion.

The end of the US' Monroe Doctrine is greatly welcome by Latin America, because finally real democracy could be enjoyed!

Puerto Rico has suffered 127 years of US imperialism. 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and almost half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico live in poverty.

The US, however, has the audacity to deceptively claim that it supports Taiwan's inalienable right to self-determination and independence, only because it wants to try to justify going to war with China too!

The US is the champion of imperialism.
