¿Qué significa los 33 años de encarcelamiento de Oscar López Rivera? / What does Oscar López Rivera’s 33 years in prison mean?

 

Oscar López Rivera ha estado en una prisión de Estados Unidos por 33 años por luchar para descolonizar a Puerto Rico.   Él tiene perfecto derecho de hacer eso bajo la ley internacional.  La ley internacional va por encima de la ley nacional.  Oscar tiene el derecho de usar cualquier medio necesario para descolonizar su país, ya que la Organización de Naciones Unidas (ONU) determinó en el 1960 que el coloniaje es un crimen en contra de la humanidad.  Sin embargo, Oscar nunca ha sido convicto por matar a nadie. 

La ONU le ha pedido al gobierno de Estados Unidos (EEUU), a través de 33 resoluciones, que descolonice inmediatamente a Puerto Rico.  ¡Hasta ahora, EEUU las han ignorados todas!

¿Será que la encarcelación de Oscar fue su repuesta a la ONU por su primera resolución?  Seguramente, esa interpretación tendría credibilidad ya que EEUU no solo las ha ignorado, pero además no ha querido excarcelar a Oscar a pesar de una tremenda presión mundial para que lo haga.   

Dado el hecho de que una enorme cantidad de países en la ONU insiste que Puerto Rico se descolonice, y el hecho de que todo los países en la ONU, el cual EEUU también es miembro, están comprometidos a cumplir con las leyes internacionales hecha por la ONU, es obvio que el gobernó de Estados Unidos no practica la democracia ni respecta la regla de la ley. 

La mejor forma para descolonizarnos bajo estas condiciones es boicotear las elecciones coloniales en Puerto Rico, ya que el coloniaje y elecciones son conceptos contradictorios.  A su vez, el 80% de los electores que votan usualmente deben protestar para que se respecte nuestro derecho a la libre determinación e independencia.  La ONU debe administrar el proceso de nuestra descolonización según la ley internacional, ya que dicho asunto está bajo la jurisdicción de ella, y no bajo la ley de EEUU que permite el coloniaje para empezar. 

Únete, y ser parte de un tsunami de gente para obligar al gobierno de Estados Unidos a cumplir con las resoluciones de la ONU.   ¡Esta marcha es necesaria porque los que tienen colonias no creen en la justicia para todos!  Más información estará disponible al final de enero de 2015.

Oscar López Rivera has been in a United States (US) prison for the last 33 years for fighting to decolonize Puerto Rico.  He has a perfect right to do so under international law.  International law supersedes national law.  Because colonialism is a crime against humanity as proclaimed by the United Nations (UN) in 1960, Oscar has the right to use any means necessary to decolonize his homeland.  However, he has never been convicted of killing anyone.

The UN has petitioned the US government through 33 resolutions to immediately decolonize Puerto Rico.  Thus far, the US has ignored them all!

Could Oscar’s incarceration have been its response to the UN’s first resolution?  It certainly seems credible, since the US not only has ignored these resolutions, but has also refused to free Oscar under heavy worldwide pressure to do so.

 

Given the fact that there is an overwhelming majority of UN country members who insist on Puerto Rico decolonization, and the fact that all member countries to the UN, which the US is also a member, are required to comply with international law produced by the UN, it is obvious that the US government does not practice democracy nor respects the rule of law.

The best way to decolonize Puerto Rico under these circumstances is to boycott the colonial elections in Puerto Rico, since elections are a contradiction to colonialism.  The usual 80% of voter turnout should instead protest for our inalienable right to self-determination and independence.  The decolonization should be managed by the UN in conformity to international law, and not through US law that permits having colonies in the first place!

Join and be a part of the tsunami of people to obligate the US government to comply with the UN resolutions.  This march is necessary because, those who have colonies don’t believe in justice for all!  More information late in January 2015.
