Why is PR a US colony?

Puerto Rico has been a United States (US) colony for the past 127 years. 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory, and almost half of the people in Puerto Rico live in poverty. 

It is important to mention that the US has consistently refused to comply with 43 United Nations' (UN) resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico's sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. Today, almost 40 million Americans are also living in poverty, and another 201 million more are living from paycheck to paycheck, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are Americans. That proves that the US has always been an empire!

Pedro knew that the US would never voluntarily give Puerto Rico her independence, because it is obsessed with always remaining a US Empire!
