Nuestra campaña se extiende a la Cuna de Betances en la Plaza de Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico de 2 a 4 PM.

Acompaña Julio García por la excarcelación de Oscar López Rivera, Ana Belén Montes y la transmisión en vivo de las vistas anuales sobre el caso colonial de Puerto Rico en la Organización de Naciones Unidas (ONU).

Estas manifestaciones son permanentes todos los 29 de todos los meses en las 78 plazas de Puerto Rico y la diáspora.  Venga con su camiseta, pancartas, banderas, canciones, poesías, bailes, drama, aclamaciones para celebrar nuestros héroes nacionales y exigirle al gobierno de Estados Unidos (EEUU) sus excarcelaciones inmediatas.

Muchas gentes desconocen que todos los años se celebra una vista sobre la descolonización de Puerto Rico en la ONU.  Cuando yo fui por primera vez a deponer allí, mis tres hermanos que todas sus vidas han vivido en Nueva York, desconocían de estas vistas.  La razón es que la ONU no transmite estas vistas, ni tampoco la Corporación de Puerto Rico para la Difusión Publica.  La pregunta obligada es ¿por qué?

El gobierno de Estados Unidos quiere mantener a Puerto Rico como su colonia para siempre.  Para lograr eso, EEUU necesita mantener en el closet el hecho de que Puerto Rico en realidad es su colonia.  ¡Como ya vieron, hasta el mismo gobernador de Puerto Rico no sabía eso!

Estamos en campaña también para sacar la colonia de Puerto Rico del closet.  Ya hemos notificado al Secretario General Ban Ki-moon, los embajadores de la ONU, los legisladores del gobierno colonial de Puerto Rico, y a la presidenta de la Corporación de Puerto Rico para la Difusión Pública de que el Pueblo de Puerto Rico quiere ver estas vistas en vivo empezando el lunes, 20 de junio de 2016. 

Si no se logra lo que pedimos, InformacionAlDesnudo de Nueva York va a transmitir en vivo esta vista para que el mundo pueda presenciar lo que ocurrió allí.  Esta vista usualmente se celebra el lunes después del Día de los Padres.  

Además, si no recibimos contestación positiva a nuestra carta certificada del 9 de diciembre de 2016 de la Corporación de Puerto Rico para la Difusión Pública, le estaremos haciendo un piquete frente a su facilidades.  Aunque no se logre la transmisión, el piquete ayudaría a la gente conocer sobre estas vistas, y sobre el gran esfuerzo por el gobierno de Estados Unidos de esconder su colonial con Puerto Rico.  Esa fue la idea de renombrar su colonia después de la insurrección nacionalista del 1950, al “Estado Libre Asociado de Puerto Rico”.

¡Tenemos que seguir con estas manifestaciones permanentes, porque los que violan la ley internacional que prohíbe el coloniaje no creen en la JUSTICA PARA TODOS!

Our national campaign moves to Betances’ Crib at Cabo Rojo’s Town Square in Puerto Rico.

Join Julio García every 29^th of every month from 2 to 4 PM to protest for the release from prison of our national heroes Oscar López Rivera, Ana Belén Montes, and for the broadcasting of the Puerto Rico decolonization hearing at the United Nations.   

These protests are permanent in all of the 78 Puerto Rican town squares and the diaspora until our national heroes are released.  On that day, we will all go to our town squares to welcome our heroes back home!

Bring your t-shirts, flags, songs, flyers, poems, drama, posters to share.  We hope that you will think of ways to make the next month’s gathering even better, and with more people participation.

Many people don’t know that every year the United Nation’s (UN) holds a hearing to discuss Puerto Rico decolonization.  When I first went to speak at this hearing, my siblings who have lived all of their lives in New York City didn’t know about this hearing.  The reason for that is that the UN doesn’t broadcast it, nor does the Puerto Rico Corporation for Public Broadcasting.  The big quest is, why?

The government of the United States (US) wants to maintain Puerto Rico as its colony forever.  To do so, it must keep Puerto Rico’s colonial relationship in the closet.  As you recently witnessed, even the governor of Puerto Rico didn’t know that Puerto Rico is a colony of the United States!

We are also in a campaign to get the colony of Puerto Rico out of the closet.  We have notified Secretary General of the UN Ban Ki-moon, the ambassadors to the UN, the legislators of the colonial government of Puerto Rico, and the president of the Puerto Rico Corporation for Public Broadcasting that the People of Puerto Rico want to watch live the UN hearing  about Puerto Rico decolonization starting on June 20th, 2016. 

If the UN refuses to broadcast it live, then InformacionAlDesnudo from New York City will do it, so that we could all know what happens there.  This hearing is usually held on the Monday after Fathers’ Day.

If we do not get the Puerto Rico Corporation for Public Broadcasting to do the live broadcast, we will picket its facility.  Even if that doesn’t get the hearing broadcasted, it will still serve to make people aware of this annual hearing, and the great effort of the US government to hide it.  That was the idea behind changing the name of its colony after the 1950 Nationalist Insurrection to the “Commonwealth of Puerto Rico”.

We must continue our permanent and peaceful protests, because those who violate the international law that prohibits colonialism, don’t believe in JUSTICE FOR ALL!
