The United States (US) Empire has nothing to learn from Uruguay. I'm surprised that the US hasn't colonized her already to force her to eliminate her successful energy system. Please click on this link to learn what Puerto Ricans should learn about real democracy: https://youtu.be/TsmlyqZJOug
Why wouldn't the so-called "governor of Puerto Rico, the US Department of Energy, and New Fortress Energy Corporate Executive Officer Wes Edens respond for an interview for this video? They didn't, because they are only interested in governing for oligarchs!
That was the whole purpose of US Major General Smedley Butler's 1935 book, WAR IS A RACKET. His thesis was that the US uses wars to enrich US corporations, and not to defend democracy and human rights. That is exactly what President Trump's possible war against Venezuela is all about!
That is why almost 40 million Americans are living in poverty today, and 201 million more are living from paycheck to paycheck, while 9 of the 10 richest men in the world are Americans too. Only 35% of Americans are satisfied with their multiparty "democratic" political party. People know what democracy is!
And, that is why the US has consistently refused to comply with 43 United Nations resolutions demanding the immediate return of Puerto Rico's sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. 6 million Puerto Ricans have abandoned their national territory (gentrification), and almost half of the 3 million people in Puerto Rico live in poverty too.
Democracy starts with Puerto Ricans waking up to the fact that their national territory has been a US colony for the past 127 years. Instead of voting in colonial elections for US puppets to continue the status quo, Puerto Ricans must engage in resistance today, resistance tomorrow, and resistance forever!
Boricuas' wake-up call!
